  1. Correct and since this is a Black Friday deal, moving thread to our BF forum.
  2. I'm a Linux n00b, is Linspire sufficient if I want a Windows-like GUI or should I (attempt to) install RedHat?
  3. Yes you can, you need the USB cable which should come with the digicam. It connects from the digicam to your computers USB port. Or you can remove the media (small memory card) and use a card reader. Personally I prefer the USB cable method. Look at the box or owners manual, it should have a list of contents.
  4. Is there a Trillian for Linux?
  5. Yeah I would probably do a DOD CIA level low level format x20 that should be sufficient
  6. Do you know how easy it is to install XP Home on those cheap $99 boxes? What about finding drivers?
  7. That is one useful feature but I just use regular AA rechargeables from CostCo/Sam's Club. Let's say you're in a remote Kenyan village with a 7 Eleven and they only sell alkaline batteries. What if you're stuck with your PROPRIETARY LITHIUM ION batteries? Wouldn't that suck? Yes it would. AA for the win!
  8. I linked your OP. Thank you!
  9. You can't keep a secret, can you? Must be all that damn sugar
  10. Docking station is overrated IMHO but it is useful for some n00b's. I'll take a printer over a docking station anyday.

  12. I'm dragging err taking my wife with me
  13. $379 Toshiba @ BB because I have $264 BBB so it will cost me $115 out the door. $149 eMachines desktop @ BB, already sold one locally for $350, instant $200 pofit!
  14. PREACH IT!!!
  15. You'll probably get a stock $149 eMachines, they will ask you non-stop to have all this stuff done. Please please say NO NO NO NO NO until you're blue in the face. Spyware and anti-virus programs can be downloaded for FREE.
  16. Sort of. Every eMachines desktop will be $149 out the door with no rebates. The only really important upgrade is increasing RAM to 512MB. Best Buy's "Geek Squad" will offer to install additional RAM, spyware, anti-virus, etc. and overcharge you for it. If you accept these additional services you will naturally pay more. Make sense?
  17. Why not get the eMachines for $149 out the door at BB?
  18. Good questions. It's easiest to use a debit/credit card as funds are credited back to your account. If you pay with cash and it's over a certain amount (I think $300), they will NOT refund you in cash. You will receive a check via mail which could take 1-2 weeks.
  19. http://search.ebay.com/T3406 There is one currently selling for $350 with 0 bids.
  20. Are you kidding? No, it's not cheaper on eBay, you also need to think about shipping as well. $149 out the door with no rebates is a HOT DEAL!
