There is a Amazon Kindle Fire on sale on Ebay for $110. It is a refurbished model, but it would be great for small kids if you don't want to spend a lot. Here is a link: Refurb Kindle Fire for $110

I don't think it will count in the predict contest. I think Harbor Freight is the real winner (It's also a larger chain). No one has ever seen a Fred's ad on here before and it wasn't in the running, lol.

What items are you hoping for the best deal on for Black Friday?
bpr replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2012
Last year there were several for $50 or so. Amazon has one currently (Toshiba) for $63. They may be as low as $40 this year for BF. I can get a DSi for $69 at my local NEX (military); $99 ain't no deal from Kmart, lol. -

I'd wait. I'm pretty sure Walmart had those for that price and a $25(?) gift card last year. I got one for $179 and a $50 GC from the NEX(military). -

Thats me every year, lol. Already got two for the DW, but need a Dooney (they've had good sales after BF). -
From Amazon: All new - 40% faster performance, twice the memory, longer battery life

Years ago we 'camped' out in front of Best Buy (in VA). It was the coldest night I'd ever spent on BF . One person had a tent (they had only lined up that night) and one had a hibachi . Manager came by at three with coffee and doughnuts (Krispy Kreme ) and had no problems. A police officer came by later and had no issues either. It's basically YMMV per location.

Putting in your vote for next year, I see (trying to get a jump on things ).

Congrats to all the winners . Now to see who actually wins the prediction , lol.

Another issue that you may need to think about is keeping track of your orders. When I order on Amazon or Best Buy (or anywhere), I watch for my tracking number and follow it (almost daily once it's shipped). Last year I said seven (maybe eight) packages never arrive at my house. SEVEN! I'm just one person and I had seven items not show up; can you imagine how many other people might be missing stuff? What kind of crap is that? They would make it close by to Norfolk VA, but would never make it to my house. These were all ordered through out the Christmas season, so it's not like they were coming at one time and someone grabbed a stack; the orders came from different places and different days. I had to call Amazon and Best Buy and have the items re-shipped. Luckily, their customer service was great. So make sure you track them. I may need to change my signature to 'Don't get stolen'; then again, I did have some cancellations last year too, lol.

I'll throw another log on the fire...how about the Microsoft Surface? I know most of these discussions are about getting tablets for kids, but adults might like something better to compete against the iPad. I'm hearing good things about the Surface which comes out in two weeks (btw, it is a touch devices (the keyboard is optional to use)). I'm interested, but will wait a little to see how it does. Prices are yet to be announced but should be slightly under the iPads price. Surface http://www.microsoft.com/global/surface/en/us/publishingimages/new/gallery_1_large.jpg

I buy lots of blu-rays during the BF/Christmas season, lol. I love getting them cheap (I have about 750....someone stop me!). My DW always NEEDS another Christmas designed throw blanket, lol. She only buys one or two a year, but they are piling up.

Black Friday Webcast Thread - Details, Schedule & More - FINAL WEBCAST TONIGHT!

I noticed last year you could rewatch an episode if you missed it. Does Livestream have that same capability? It didn't look like I could watch the test program from last month (I missed it ). I thought I'd ask. Can't wait for this Saturday! -
I bought an 8GB iPod touch (4th Gen) last year for $179 and got a $50 GC from the NEX (Military Only). Since I shop the NEX a lot it was worth it for me to get the GC.

I shop all year. Cinderella just came out on Blu-ray so that makes a great gift for my niece. I've got some stuff for her dad. I've picked up some other movies for my son already and some clothing. Almost done with the wifey. All this and I haven't even hit BF yet, lol.

My wife and I have been doing BF for almost 20 years now (It was somewhere around 1993/94). At least that's what I remember. We used to go to KB Toy Works/ Toy Castle at 2 am and they would open around 5 or 6. As the years went by, we would get there earlier to stay in the front of the line. Now it's just insane no matter where we go, lol. Our son goes shopping now too; not really for himself though. He likes me to task him to find things I want, lol (Divide and Conquer). I signed up on here back in 2005, but was a lurker before that.

Are you planning on spending more or less on Christmas this year?
bpr replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2012
Less, but only because we don't have any big ticket items we are looking for (got the 3D HDTV last year ). -
10/11 - Half Price Books

I'm in for a shot at a T-shirt.
-
I still say make a QR code a patch to sew on our rear pant's pocket, lol . I like number 8, but I think it needs 'GottaDeal.com Why Pay Retail?' underneath the picture. Someone behind you, and trying to get to the deal you are blocking/hoarding, may never see the front of the shirt, lol.

What about the front of #3 and the back of #1? I think it might look better if you add '.com' on the end of GottaDeal so people know what you are referring to when looking at the back. Also, the front GottaDeal.com should match your actual logo (I think it would look better). One idea I had was similar to #3, only it said 'Black Friday University' or another idea would be 'BJS University', lol.
