FYI If anyone needs to file multiple states the cost per additional state is $34.95 as a "preparation fee", then $18 to efile each state.... I figured that using TT this year (for the 7th year) will cost me $130 .... think it is time to rethink just using the same software.....

A couple of quick questions for you... I have used TurboTax for about 6 years now - but this year I may switch as the costs keep on going up. I need to file Federal (obviously) and two state taxes (non resident and resident). The TurboTax deluxe cost is $60 plus $36 ($18 to efile each state return) and an additional state prep fee of 35$ !! Total $130 I checked the Taxact website - I would likely get the ultimate bundle for 19.99 (Fed and State) then (here is the question) I would need to buy the state 1040 ($14) also? to do the non resident. Do you know whether the info from the Fed merges into the State (as with TT?) and do you know if the TT data from last year gets pulled (or do I need to do that) ? If I am reading the fees correctly - 19 for Fed plus one State, 14 for State and 16 (8 each state filing fee) - $50.... big difference in cost. TIA for your help

I think the prices may have been lower - may saved cart went up around 20% when I got to the check out (from prices updating)....

FWIW - I called amazon to see if I could get the same deal as you (as I had also bought the two guitars last week) the rep I got essentially said too bad. Need to call back and get another rep!

I am glad that I wasnt the only one confused by this. I ordered back at the end of Oct - and have been waiting for the certificates to come in the mail. When I check back at my account the certificates are there to be printed.... so I did- but there was no email to let me know that was the process...... maybe I missed the details... but anyway - I have them now.:)
