Wow..you guys take forever BUT then again I know some of you make the gifts look impossibly pretty too. I usually JUST wrap, maybe some ribbon if its a small thing like a game, dvd or jewelry and it takes a few hours. We usually leave things until really last minute(Christmas eve/morning) even though we have everything way in advance. We haven't been putting up a tree lately so maybe that's part of the issue. I think I'll ask to put up the fake one Thanksgiving weekend and then test Bella for a few days before putting any gifts under it. I only disguise stuff if I want to trick the person NOT to make a prettier package:) Last year I collected the boxes the office coffee came in and wrapped different people's stuff in it. When they unwrapped a coffee box some were quite unamused.

I just got my shirt AFTER coming home from a great trip to Target. Thank you Brad!

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2011
tinkrbel replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Thanks Bella and traffic. I ended up going to a further away store than I intended and scored a trex costume for my godson who loves the one in toy story plus the little felt baskets and some foam decoratable things (witch hat, haunted house), plus a few star wars costumes, dog toys for bella AND a sterilite box. I then headed to the store I was originally going to and found 7 sing-a-majigs, some lego sets, some boys shirts and a few different gingerbread kits. One is a haunted house with tree but the other is like a little village. I'll probably swap the candy for other stuff and do it for Xmas with nephew. Heads up to folks looking for stuff: Tissues: there are laura ashley ones but there's also Kleenex. The Kleenex is the striped boxes NOT the zig zag boxes they have more tissues and ring up .16 Legos: I only remembered when hitting 2nd store but found some Atlantis ones, a lego city one and a star wars one. The Toy story army men is ringing up 3.99 still. Solo: There's some solo cups that come with straws and lids. If the top cup is black or orange it should ring up .29 for a pack of 15. I searched through the food section and found Reese's no cook bar kits with halloween on the box but they rang up regular price. May be worth checking your store. I kind of felt bad for the lady who didn't pick up the box and warned me the lid w/it didn't fit. Sure enough(like I told her) after scavenging I went round to regular box section and found a brighter green lid that fit. Do ppl really give up that easily? I'm assuming it's the right one since xmas green boxes were darker. -
I just noticed the free after rebate knife and flashlight....I will need to add that for fathers list to pick up AND explain how to do separate receipts to avoid the PepBoys debacle from last year again.

LOL...you guys cleared house on tissues. I bought maybe 10-15 packs and felt like an episode of hoarders but if I hadn't of bought them my father will go spend 2.49 or something ridiculous on them when he decides he NEEDS a box. I just emptied trunk and remembered my TREASURED buy yesterday when it THUDDED loudly on the floor. I freaked thinking I'd broken something but then remembered I got some wilton(i think) trays for fangs, fingers and a big candy corn one. I think it's back to target for me today. Bella is loving the dog on side of side toy costume at for 1.30 can't really bit it:P -
go you:) I semi started mine as a side project to charts but I'm pleasantly surprised there's only 2 things on there so far (1 online Wed and 1 for father to get at Ace)NOT including CVS/Walgreens stuff since that's Tday and I usually just take ad and go based on that. Haven't incorporated JCPenney ad yet. I NEED to start a spreadsheet or find oldest one and try to recreate last years list of what we gave to ppl and then add who's getting what this year.
-
I'll be cutting back on B&M stores. I have little patience and find myself getting annoyed with people (which is unnecessary). I will still go out for some freebies (JCPenney snowglobe has become a tradition)and stuff I can't get free shipping on usually clothes or stuff from office max/office depot if I need anything from there. I got great deals online last year and have been able to get SO much before hand through various clearance and other sales that BF is more of a bonus SALE day. I expect this year we'll get more stuff at CVS/Walgreens than anywhere else.

Past year's memories.... anyone have pics or stories?
tinkrbel replied to brinak2005's topic in 2011
BF is not about the insanity for me, I go for deals and because it's become a tradition for us(mom&me). I do not enjoy large crowds and usually keep myself to myself, the exception being the year I turned up to BestBuy at 11pm (alone)Thanksgiving night and then I made small talk with people in line. The biggest changes for me have been a)who the gifts are for the stores we go to c) time stores open and d) less rebates. Preparation-wise I don't remember EVER having a list in the early years just the ad with items circled, now it's much more detailed. I make a list with stores organized by list of importance, detailing store opening times, item, price listing important items at ALL stores they're available at and then crossing multiples off as I buy while mother drives to next destination. I think early on my grandma would treat us to lunch at Long John Silvers (only fish I would eat) after all the running about, these days I shop til I drop. I just don't CARE for food, I may get hungry for a few minutes while standing in line somewhere but by the time I'm out I'm over it. We used to buy toys for my cousins at KB Toys...the youngest turns 15 in January and the new generation(godson and nephew) get toys from the Target clearance sales.BF shopping now is mostly electronic stuff for us or computer hardware. Back in the day I seem to remember the list as KB Toys followed by RadioShack in the same mall and then off to JCPenney for globes. KBToys no longer exists, Radio Shack deals aren't that great anymore BUT we still stop by JCPenney early every year for a few snowglobes. I have no idea what time stores used to open (6-7am maybe) but we picked up my grandma a few times since she lived near mall w/KB, now the times keep creeping earlier. I don't remember ever missing out on what we wanted in the early BF years showing up maybe 10-15min before store opened but now you better be there ASAP for a chance to get whatever you need. In the days of Circuit City and CompUSA I used to get steals AFTER rebates. I would spend all of Friday afternoon preparing,scanning/copying all of them before dropping at the post office on Saturday. Now the deals don't seem as great and rebates are for either PepBoys or JCPenney. -
yup they have a thomas kincade one to first 200 to make a clothing, intimate apparel or accessories purchase.

NOT exactly but sort of. I think each company decides what their "holidays" are for time and a half and only a few are official/legally recognized.

Yes, took the flyer with me expecting some excuse but I was price matching other stuff anyhow so took the chance. No issue whatsoever. -
That seems to be the common thread here it seems, sucks for you guys I have always gotten my rebates, once had a scare with staples sending a postcard saying it was denied but apparently it was a glitch in the system.

Official "Is it me or are the ads disappointing so far?" thread ;)
tinkrbel replied to Tigger97498's topic in 2011
Wasn't this thread started earlier? I'm ok with whats out there. -
The target coupon seems pretty specific AND it doesn't work online so probably won't work in store.
-
we're practically done and I'd be VERY stressed if I wasn't. Since OP has cut back it might not be so bad though.
-
I saw her mentioned on Twitter or Facebook sometime last week so she should be back I think.
-
You scared me....It looks like Sears and JCPenney will be opening at same time AND they're right next to each other in mall IF it's the right doors we should be able to get both ornaments.
-
not sure if they do but there was no AD in the paper last year.

didn't test the lego's but the russell stovers caramels(2 pumpkins in pack) were 90% off-10cents each and the peep pumpkin packs were also 90%. I got some ninjago packets too. I got some boys star wars outfits, a dog costume, some kids mickey shirts and a few girl princessy looking outfits. Including a black one that supposedly lights up:P AND maybe 10 of the tissues. They were on an endcap marked 70% off, I got the striped kleenex ones since they have 73 vs 60 in the laura ashley boxes:P Plus I price matched 2 Operation Bizzlightyear from ToysRUs, I could not believe they had any in stock. -
Scan won't download past 2%. Weird, this one worked by just clicking link then saving once PDF opened. The save link as was stuck

since you mention it:P Any recommendations on a good laser printer/multifunction with multi-sheet feeder
