  1. I wish they would pass laws banning the political ad's that do nothing but slam the other person. Why don't you try telling me what YOU stand for not why the other person is the devil. OK enough pol babble from me. :)

I don't think they'd know what to do if they actually had to talk about their own platforms without bringing up the other side. That one change would transform future run ups to elections.

I was pleasantly surprised that so many stores are closing and hope it stays that way. I think as the years have gone on we've needed less, the kids in the family get older and their Christmas demands get shared later making deals a hope more than the search it used to be. Last year I decided to send small gifts to friends across the country because I just wasn't feeling the spirit at home and wanted to avoid others getting bogged down by the same.

The pandemic has definitely opened my eyes to a lot: things we think we need but don't, things we take for granted and are absolutely scrapping by without, and just some character flaws that perhaps got overlooked in the hustle and bustle of normal fast paced day to day.

  2. so annoyed, woke up with alarm for ad- turned it off and went back to bed with sick dog. Came to work, loaded stuff in cart and now its INCONVENIENTLY asking for CC# which is NOT in my purse and also not available on redcard website statements. Phooey, left card at home after dropping some stuff off in between running errands and nobody is home. Oh well, didnt need any of it :/

  3. My mother is insistent this started in stores too. She mentioned it days ago and I pulled ad and showed her it says Thursday at whatever time. She got coupons yesterday which mention 3PM today so she'll be at the store trying to get freebies. Highly unlikely but I'll post if she reports back

  4. Don't think we've waited much outside anymore in years, last year or the year before we made it to Macy's before they opened and it was a lot of talking about ad and trying to keep like ppl together to avoid the pesky kids in crowd. Brandsmart and Best Buy usually have lines to get in so we'll review ad and answer questions about whats on sale for clueless ppl who just joined the line

  5. If anyone needs any in-store Best Buy help I am here ready to serve.

If memory serves correctly you're up upstate right? jacksonville or tallahassee ish area somewhere? I'm heading up to Orlando BF morning but I expect shopping to do done mostly by Thursday night. Just want the onyko receiver, a power station and a couple of movies I could live without from BB

  6. My mother doesn't like leaving stuff in trunk and heading back into store. she thinks ppl are going to break in so I wind up carrying too much in malls OTHERWISE she insists on changing spots and that just takes too much time in my opinion.

I know the malls here have security platform things (like lifeguard stands) and have seen them in use previous BF not so much during the year as much

  7. Well then I guess Macys is our first stop again this year. I'm not even gonna bother looking at this now. Going to try to shop Hot Topic $10 tees before I gotta head to kids party and then review/make list whenever we get back. Bags are cute and can't go wrong with free even if there's no zipper up top.

Last year we got rebates automatically at register some Florida caveat, wonder if that's still in place this year?

Update: Hot Topic was just yesterday and I never logged back in after getting back from work :(

  8. see a couple of maybes, still havent seen any reason to head to any store after dinner thursday yet. Should be able to get everything online I think. Need to see sale start time and could head over to see what coupons we get, mother mentioned FREE stuff at Macys? On way to that ad now, left the biggies for last

Wow..they're open at 2pm. Seems like some stores pulled back and others want to be open the whole damn day

  9. Has anyone ever shopped Sears for appliances? Wondering if online will be an option or if one needs to go into the store

What laddhorn said :P Kenmore stainless steel cooker is 369.99 per ad will be 369 so not much difference and saves time/hassle if you can get now and arrange delivery for whenever. Not sure what cost of delivery might be though

  10. thanks for the info on receivers ALL. I had a quick look yesterday morning and the Onyko definitely seems the better choice via specs and reviews-wise as well. Hopefully I can get online like I did the one its replacing. I've been having sound come in/out and am hoping upgrading the receiver will take care of it since I don't really want a new Tivo unless there's a decent sale on them(don't think lifetime plan is transferable).

Still undecided about whether to spend the extra on 4k bluray or just standard. My Panasonic 46" plasma has lasted forever and I don't really see any reason to upgrade. I could MAYBE get something slightly bigger but why spend the money and take this HEAVY monster off the wall mount if there's nothing wrong with it? I can only relocate it to brothers room since living room has a built in cabinet/glass display thing that only fits a 32" barely and frankly he doesn't deserve and probably wouldn't appreciate the trouble it'd take.

  11. Most of the ads are offering gift cards with an iPhone 8 and activation.  How does this work?  We are currently AT&T customers with no contract and iPhone 5s devices.  Do I simply walk into Walmart, but two phones, activate and leave with my existing account plus amortized phone payments and a gift car?  Or do I have to switch from one carrier to the other to get the gift cards?

Following on from this, does the new phone/payment plan tie me into a new contract?
