a nice, warm blanket (most of the elderly like them due to decreased circulation), socks, slippers with rubber soles, soap, shampoo, enlarged word puzzles, magnifying glass (the kind that fits a whole page), a tv with remote (and batteries) for her room, the hair dresser come see her for a day is a good idea, sugar free snacks, or maybe a basket with a few of the toiletries listed above, a warm button up sweater, sweatshirts, sweatpants, large fitting clothes, a radio/tape/cd player with a few of her favorite songs from her era...

i have used LAW on BF and was out of the store at about 6:30 am. and on to the next. i will still use walmart, but i will pick and choose more carefully. with the kids getting older and wanting more expensive things, soon we will not do alot of shopping there. it will be computers, tvs, etc from bestbuy and circuit city!

i'm a nurse. so we have to work on all holidays. in order for me to have off BF, i have to work on thanksgiving. 7am-7pm with almost an hour drive each way. no shopping for me.

got the black/white composition books for the kids (probably enough until they graduate from college!) for .12 cents. bought 2 lunch boxes for my youngest, she loses at least one a year for 1.98 each (brats and supergirl) all the school stuff is 75% off. and the tent and sporting good stuff was 50% off, they had an eddie bauer tent for $80, regular price $160. good deal if i went camping!
