The new Entertainment.com gift card benefit is nice: $50 gift cards for Red Lobster/Olive Garden/Bahama Breeze/Smokey Bones for just $45.00 -- not to mention you can use them yourself...

Good find! In my local book is a $5 coupon for Weis Markets (the supermarket chain we go to), so the book would really only cost me $3.99.

But as Kranky said:"...I admin a small forum and I get at least 2 new registrations every day that are obviously done by programs. It's a giant PITA. They don't even create posts - they just register so their spam website will show up in their profile." We could at least avoid those... If registration was a little more difficult, i.e. prospective member sets up their account (id, password, etc.), then was approved by a Mod, then the member could finalize their membership, it would be less attractive to Spammers.
-
On another forum that I joined, new members have to be approved by a Mod before they can even finalize their registration. Would that be a possibility (at least from now till mid-October (when BF registrations should start churning up).

Take the whole tower, not just the hard drive... I have a feeling that your video card or the monitor is the problem.

Has anyone considered that Myrage's video card might've gone South?

Or even a digital pic of the screen's display...

Yeah, I was thinking that too...

According to Crucial.com, your Dell takes SDRAM PC133 Ram. The Dell Dimension L Series has a maximum capacity of 512MB, which can be achieved from two 256MB chips of Ram. Here is the link to Crucial's offerings: http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp?Mfr%2BProductline=Dell%2BDimension+%2F+Dimension+XPS&mfr=Dell&tabid=AM&model=Dimension+L+Series&submit=Go but you could look around, any SDRAM PC133 should work... (make sure not to get Ram designed for a notebook, of course, that'll be a different shape).

I got a green one! :)

Well, the regular http://www.smileyarena.com site is fine. They just added a forum recently... And they have no mods as far as I can tell.

Shopnbc Top Value of today Desktop Computer
Marcster replied to davidbugs's topic in Online Hot Deals
Yeah, they couldn't really offer the MS Works Suite if it was a non-Windows machine. And computer builder cannot offer Windows ME or Windows 2000 anymore -- WinME's life cycle for "System Builder License Availability" ran out on June 30, 2004 and Win2K's on March 31, 2005. (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/lifecycle/default.mspx) My goodness, WinXP has been out since December 31, 2001 -- if ShopNBC were to sell a computer with WinME or Win2K, they'd be moving some very old stock! -
Has anyone else noticed that Johnny hasn't posted since making this thread? The question is "Where's Johnny?" (like BCBGirl said, above)... His last "activity" was 5/27/06.

Yeah, and a lot of the time, the programs are either things you've never heard of with inflated "retail values" (Org Chart Professional, Expensable 7, Lashback Anti-Spam???) or they're the full-retail price for programs you can usually pick up cheap after a rebate (Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing v.17, Print Shop 21). -
I've had it take 16 weeks. It should come eventually, or you could call and check on it. The code probably expired... Here's $3.85 for 12 issues:http://www.magazinepricesearch.com/detail/caranddriver.html
