Drives arrived today!

I could potentially have that much, but when the NAS is fully-configured, I'll have 720GB in RAID 1 using... gulp.... 8 drives. 400 x 2 200 x 2 80 x 2 40 x 2 That will be MORE than enough. But maybe I can pick up a pair of 320GBs on sale on BF for cheap.

Fry's cancelled my order for the 2.5" external case, but the Seagate drives should be here today or tomorrow.

If memory serves, I think CompUSA was one of the last ads we received, so there wasn't as much opportunity to talk about it... Plus, there are aren't as many CompUSAs around the country. For instance, my nearest one is about an hour's drive. I know a lot of peope talked about them opening up at midnight though...

I think they clearance these things out at the end of the Summer, so your best bet will probably be Big Lots, Odd Lots, Olley's, etc. Or else you'll have to check out a place like Cabbelas.

Is the tree real or fake? A fake tree might be better since it won't smell, well, like a tree. Assuming it's artificial, try setting it up a week ahead of time (empty) and see what your cat think of it. She may not care. It she's trying to climb all over it, then you may have a problem (we can't set up a tree with our cats). You can anchor the tree into the drywall with eyeloops and fishing line. That'll keep it from toppling over. As far as ornaments being knocked off the tree, you could try putting some sort of cushion under the tree skirt to help protect the falling ornament. After the Canata, we go back to my in-laws for a buffet dinner with a large portion of my wife's relatives.
