  1. You probably got it through the deal I posted above...
  2. Here is a three-user student version for $84.95: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116135 Are you certain they need M$ Office? Open Office, which is donationware from openoffice.org has 85% of the same functions and can easily open, edit and save in the Microsoft formats (.doc, .xls, etc.) OpenOffice can even be installed on a flash drive so they can work on any computer, including computer labs at school or at "Grandma's house". --- However, if they MUST use Microsoft Office, the best deal is through the "Ultimate Steal" offer: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=82415 (it's for the Ultimate version, not the stripped down Student version) Apparently, Microsoft is going to start that up again on August 20th.
  3. Last year I got a 2GB Kingston flash drive at Inkstop for $9.99. Not a good deal anymore, but it was then. The kicker was that we didn't go out till after 9:30 am and they still had plenty.

  5. www.freebizmag.com
  6. I've found them up to 32GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2013240522%201309429390&bop=And&Order=PRICE ($94.99 and up)
  7. More stock certainly fans the flames... http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Misc/flame.gif
  8. My deal was hotter! http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Tease/raspberry.gif (Of course, they may not have had as many of the Kingstons).
  9. That didn't take long -- 3 hours!?!?! Scott's thread for the 4GB Super Talent flash drive @ $9.99 shipped is still a good deal: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=113862
  10. No problem... http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Please%20TY/N1NoProblem.gif Not that this drive is bad at all, but Kingston is a better known brand and the capless design is nice.
  11. You're welcome! I love USB Flash Drives. Go visit www.portableapps.com and www.portablefreeware.com for all kinds of cool programs. I carry one with me most of the time, it's great for jumping on my parent's or in-law's computers and checking e-mail, surfing, etc. Firefox (or Opera) Portable can sync with your desktop's web browser favorites and you can go anywhere. And OpenOffice is great if you need to edit Word .docs on the fly....

  13. I'm not sure about the local ads, but here's a 2GB Dane-Electric for $8.95. shipped: http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=204304883
  14. Good stuff, Brad! http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Slang/rockon.gif Brad reads magazines like "People" and "OK!" and is deathly afraid of the paparazzi that would surely follow him if they knew his identity. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Photography/photo.gif
  15. I've had my DC14 Animal for three years. It's been in the shop 4 times. Fortunately, Best Buy's extended warranty has covered everything for me. Better get an extended warranty!
  16. Oh, me too! That was the absolute height of the "DotCom Bubble". Heck, I remember being able to order cat food and litter from Petco.com and Pets.com and have it delivered to my doorstep for much less than I could go buy it for at a grocery or pet store. I do miss the funny commercials: http://blog.wired.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/11/20/pets.jpg
  17. This sounds very similar to when Priceline used to sell gasoline through their Name Your Own Price program back in 2000: http://news.cnet.com/2100-1017-237306.html (note the date of the article -- the program is now defunct). Priceline couldn't make a go of it, maybe the fees with this new MyGallons.com site will make it profitable, but as Nate points out, it may not make much sense for the average family.
  18. Repost of this: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=106187&highlight=Premium+Photo+Paper searchalready
  19. Looks like MagicJack will get an influx of new suckers (oops, I mean customers): http://www.kpic.com/news/tech/20025729.html That's a positive article from the AP (and AP articles go all over...)
  20. Yes, it's the same movies. Basically, the Roku unit allows you to watch the movies on your (presumably larger) television and in the comfort of your couch... More fun than having the whole family crammed around the computer desk.
  21. Lowe's for the win! Home Depot wants to keep all their appliances as pets. At HD's prices, it's amazing they sell any!
  22. http://www.gamefly.com They're like the Netflix of video game systems.
  23. The friends we visited in California on vacation just got a Wii and a Wii Fit (I hooked it up for them). Though I only scratched the surface of what the Wii Fit can do, it has some cool balance games, aerobics and even stand in place jogging games. The Fit board also functions as a scale and through your height input will automatically calculate your BMI, weight loss, etc. It even keeps track of your fitness goals, progress, and amount of time spent exercising. For the small amount of time I spent with it, it's quite remarkable. Through the four sensors of the Fit pad, it knows if you are doing the exercises correctly -- or at all -- no slacking off here! http://www.nintendo.com/wiifit/launch/ Trailer (commercial): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oNVIcMnZh4 Here's a one-week review from wired.com: http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/03/diary-one-week.html My wife and I plan to get a Wii and a Wii Fit to go with it...
  24. That's kinda funny... I only listened to the FM radio on mine long enough to make sure that it functioned.
  25. My first player (besides my phone) was a 1gb Apple Shuffle. When I wanted to expand into something with a screen, I decided I liked the small clip-on style so the Sandisk Clip was a natural choice. At $80, it cost the same as my one-year-old Shuffle did when it was new, but had 4x the capacity, the ability to record sounds as MP3s, an FM radio, a graphic equalizer, the ability to select genres, artists, songs or albums. Even though they have dropped the price of Shuffles, I still would choose my Clip over the Shuffle.
