Have you looked at the ones that will be on sale for Black Friday? http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/BlackFridaySales/Category/Laptops Discussion of those laptops here: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=120784 If you won't be going out for Black Friday, let us know what your 10 year old wants to do with the laptop (games, internet, etc.) and we'll see what we can come up with...

The are the games from the older Nintendo Gamecube system. Super Mario Brothers, Luigi's Mansion, that sort of thing. I have no idea the cost, I've never bought one. They do require a classic wired controller(s). You can either use controllers from a retired Gamecube or you can buy Wii (white) colored ones. Nintendo doesn't accept a credit card over the Wii Shop channel -- you have to buy a Wii points card: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_Points And you are going to want to get your Wii hooked up to your computer's router to even do this.

From that same Wikipedia article: "Standard SD card capacities range from 4 MB to 8 GB, and for high capacity SDHC cards from 4 GB to 64 GB as of 2008." So, it's quite possible that the 4GB card you have is a standard SD card. If you have it handy, SDHC cards have a SDHC logo right on 'em, like this: http://www.mrgadget.com.au/catalog/images/sandisk_sdhc_8gb_sd_card.gif Somewhere in that range is the standard price for a 2GB card. If you look around, you might find one for $5.00 shipped, but how much is your time worth? Newegg is a reliable seller -- no worries about shenanigans.

The things that stink about xD: There will never be a card larger than 2GB.They are slower compared to SDHC cards. They are suffer from artificially high prices compared to SDHC cards. You can get a 8 GB Class 6 SDHC card for around $18.99, but a lousy 2GB of xD is $22.68.

Whether your camera can use the new 8GB SDHC card depends on how old your digital camera is: "Standard SD card capacities range from 4 MB to 8 GB, and for high capacity SDHC cards from 4 GB to 64 GB as of 2008. The format has proven to be very popular. However, a change in the format, while allowing capacities greater than 4 GB (SDHC), has created compatibility issues with older devices which cannot read the new format. Since SDHC format cards have the same physical shape and form factor as the older format, this has caused considerable confusion for consumers.[2][3] SDHC cards require an SDHC capable device firmware, generally not found with older devices." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital_card The Wii will use the SD card to save things such as high scores, the Mii characters (those little "personalities") and games you may download from the Wii store (downloaded through the Wii Channel on your Wii system).

Not disputing that this is a decent price, but remember that it is a Class 4 (slower) card and not a Class 6 or faster SDHC card. If you want to capture video with your camera or offload your images to your computer faster, a Class 6 card is a better choice. The Wii will not work with a SD card beyond 2GB. It is not compatible with SDHC cards (those larger than 4GB). For a 2GB card, this is good choice: Kingston 2GB SD card for $6.49 shipped: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134445

I was considering buying an Olympus camera, but I am hesitant to get it because of the lousy xD cards and their high prices in comparison to SD. That being said, the best price I've found is $22.68 @ amazon.com (free shipping if over $25): http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-xD-Picture-Card-Type/dp/B000WON3BM

The Sansa players have a built-in radio too. It's Apple that refuses to add a radio, for unknown reasons.

The only devices that work with Itunes are Ipods. That's it. You would need to record to CD and then re-rip the songs as MP3s.

On Black Friday, Best Buy is going to have the Sansa Clip 4gb for $34.99 (I paid $79.99 originally). Several places are going to have the 4GB and 8GB Sansa Fuze player on sale on BF. I've been extremely happy with my Sansa MP3 player. The shipping companies (including USPS) are raising their rates -- online stores have to follow along.

I don't recommend these "off brand" GPS units -- usually have dated maps with no promises of updates, fewer than the standard 6 million POIs, and spotty GPS reception. Stick with major brands: TomTom, Garmin, Sony, Magellan, Mio, HP, etc.

Last week, Newegg had one of their one-day deals for a WD 1TB internal for $99 shipped. I still remember back when 8 (eight) GB hard drives were $100. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Male/11.gif

Best place Buy ATT cell phone
Marcster replied to catzone2001's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Do you want to renew your contract (newer phones/higher discount), or just buy a phone outright without a contract renewal? Most ebay sellers are individuals or small businesses who do not take credit cards directly. Paypal is an electronic funds system -- you fund it with a credit card or checking account, they get their funds electronically. It's been around for at least 10 years. It's completely owned by ebay.com. For more details, www.paypal.com. If you are open to renewing your contract, the best prices are at Radio Shack -- better than corporate AT&T stores even. -

I think it was around 12-12:30 -- lunchtime on Thanksgiving. There were limits -- it was only one type of doorbuster per order and there were limits on certain items. For instance, you could buy a maximum of two of the hard drives but only one TomTom. Since I wanted the hard drive deal and the TomTom, I actually had to place multiple orders, and pay the $5 shipping each time. But, it is soooooo worth it vs. camping out in Wyomissing (PA)'s 30-degree temps. This is only certain doorbusters too, not the laptop deals for instance.

Last year I was able to score the hard drive and TomTom deals through bestbuy.com on Thanksgiving @ BF prices. No lines to wait in.
