  2. new thread for October: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=83571
  3. It's very doubtful you'll find a deal on BF for headphones that you can't get right now by ordering online. Most stores treat headphones as they do other "accessories", meaning they are extremely overpiced compared to online. What kind are you looking for? Earbud-style, studio-style, headband-style?
  4. 27" westinghouse = around $249-299 32" westinghouse = around $349-399

    Movies/CD's

with HD-DVD and Blu-Ray around more, there will probably be a lot of deals on older DVDs as stores look to clear out titles they have a lot of.

  8. Please keep this thread on-topic and do not post personal attacks. If the attacks continue, the thread will be deleted and such future talk will be disallowed. As for selling tickets, not even considering the ethical/unethical debate, I can't see people wanting to pay you enough for the tickets to make it worth your time. If someone wants a BF item, they want it because it is a hot deal at the BF price. Chances are at the BF price + the cost to "buy" your ticket it becomes much less of a deal. So you run the risk of either not getting any buyers, or having to sell the tickets for so little that you wasted all your time to make a very small amount of money. In that case you might as well buy the item and try re-selling it on eBay yourself if you want to make money.
  9. Link should be working now. There was an issue with the affiliate redirect
  10. Either way, GD visitors win - you get advance information on the ads to plan ahead, and as always we'll show you deals that are cheaper online compared to BF prices to save even more money :) Also see this article which mentions GD and talks about the upcoming holiday sales forecasts: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/19/AR2007091902174.html

  12. Nope, nothing has been changed there in a long time :)
  13. I'm sure there is a way to track how long everyone is on the forum. Problems are: 1) it would only start keeping track now - there'd be no way to get past numbers 2) it wouldn't be totally accurate because it would have no way of knowing how long you are on the site after you become inactive (reading a long thread, etc...) 3) it would require processing power to continually update your total, and that is power which we can't spare this time of year for non-essential things The scary thing is there are a lot of you who are on here way more than me, and it's my site/job/business, lol

  21. In case anyone wants to put these on your own site or in your signature on another forum (when allowed of course), I quickly made some banners for you to use. These are being hosted on a forum separate from the BF site, so feel free to hotlink them if you'd like. Also be sure to link them to the main Black Friday site if possible. You can also feel free to make your own graphics if you need them to be a specific size other than what's here. http://www.bfinside.com/countdown.gif URL: http://www.bfinside.com/countdown.gif (this one will automatically update, so you'll need to use the URL above to access it) http://www.bfinside.com/banners/380x120.gif URL: http://www.bfinside.com/banners/380x120.gif http://www.bfinside.com/banners/285x90.gif URL: http://www.bfinside.com/banners/285x90.gif http://www.bfinside.com/banners/190x60.gif URL: http://www.bfinside.com/banners/190x60.gif http://www.bfinside.com/banners/userbar1.gif URL: http://www.bfinside.com/banners/userbar1.gif http://www.bfinside.com/banners/userbar2.gif URL: http://www.bfinside.com/banners/userbar2.gif http://www.bfinside.com/banners/userbar3.gif URL: http://www.bfinside.com/banners/userbar3.gif http://www.bfinside.com/banners/userbar4.gif URL: http://www.bfinside.com/banners/userbar4.gif There are also some graphics from last year still available in this thread.
  22. As always this year we have the mailing list you can subscribe to that lets you know when new ads have been posted. You can sign up for that here: http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/EMailAlerts Because of the popularity of the site, this mailing list has grown exponentially the last few years, and therefore it can take several hours for the e-mails to reach everyone. Therefore I thought I'd give you some pointers if you'd like to get notifications a little quicker. First, the Black Friday site has an RSS feed which contains the latest updates to the site, including all new ads posted. You can follow this with any RSS news reader to get the latest updates. I will usually post new ad updates here before I start sending out the e-mails. You can also use one of the many RSS-to-email services to have the RSS feed sent to your inbox automatically when new updates are posted. Again, this may help you get updates faster. One example of such a service is RMail.org. There are similar services which can send RSS feed updates to your cell phone as well. Finally, at least for now, the mailing list system sends out e-mails alphabetically. Therefore if you have access to an e-mail address that starts with a number or one of the first letters of the alphabet, chances are you'll get updated first. Please note that this may (and likely will) change in the future, but for now it should work. In the meantime I am looking into ways to speed up the e-mailing process, but for now, those are some ways you BF-diehards can get the info as soon as possible :)

  25. Based on what I've seen in the past, I think there is a good chance that the first "big" ads will be the Sears and Kmart ads. Those seem to always come out early (especially Sears). Radio Shack also seems to come out early. As for the really big stores, usually Wal-Mart is first, followed by Target. Best Buy / Circuit City / Staples seem to be some of the last to come out each year.
