  4. I'm guessing they pay a flat rate for their phone numbers. The real usefullness of the calls is for whomever answers them to tell their superior about them, and hopefully word spreads to those in charge.
  5. Looks like they are just sending the same form letter to everyone who e-mails about this. That's why calling is likely going to be more beneficial. They probably have scripts to automatically send that e-mail if you mention BF or GD in your e-mails, so call them instead and really get them annoyed

See this thread: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=80446 This thread has been covered before many times - try searching for more info. Thread closed.
  7. Tomorrow is a big day. If we make a lot of phone calls and send a lot of e-mails it will be a clear message to Wal-Mart that we're not just going to go away. And it will really annoy the people having to answer the phones, which is always fun
  8. http://www.ftjcfx.com/image-1412508-10439305 It's time for another great giveaway here on the forum :) Our good friends at Geeks.com contacted us and besides wishing us good luck in our battle with a certain unnamed retailer have given us a brand new Logitech io2 Digital Pen Digital Writing System ($149.99 value) to give away here on the forum to one lucky GottaDeal forum member! We're going to have some fun with this giveaway so here are the rules: To enter, reply to this thread with a letter to Santa explaining why you could use this particular prize, along with anything else you are looking to get this year (if you've been a good boy or girl of course). Because this prize is being provided by Geeks.com, the "geekier" your entry, the better Some more information: * Contest entries will be accepted from now through November 30th at midnight ET. * You have one hour after posting your entry to edit it. Any editing after that time will disqualify your entry. * If you delete your post for whatever reason, you will not be allowed to post another entry. * There is a limit of one entry per household. Multiple entries will be disqualified. * The most unique, creative entry as determined by our team of moderators will be deemed the winner. * 3 runner-up winners will also be randomly selected from all entries and those members will each receive a GottaDeal drawstring backpack. Good luck to all! To make things easier for the mods to read through all the entries, please only post your entries in this thread. Do not comment about other entries. Non-entry posts will be deleted.
  9. IP address: 74.185.238.244 (adsl-074-185-238-244.sip.jax.bellsouth.net) E-mail address: [email protected] Your ISP (BellSouth) has been contacted. I'm sure they don't appreciate their customers making threats :) To everyone: please ignore people like this - they are just trolls and if you don't give them the attention they want, it will annoy them more than you can imagine, lol. I usually just delete posts like this, but I'll leave this one just to show how pathetic some of these people are And let's get ready to hit WM with an onslaught of phone calls and e-mails again tomorrow morning
  10. And they forgot a "t" in GottaDeal, lol. I remember that ad scan - I believe it was 2004. Ah, the good old days, lol.
  11. I think that quote was made up by the poster and is just the kind of thing they think a retailer should say if they wanted to use this to their advantage.
  12. I doubt you'll see a major retailer do that, but you never know. We do get BF ads sent to us directly from smaller retailers every year as well, and this year I'll be sure to mention which stores those are in case you want to shop there and/or thank them for embracing the goal of this site.
  13. If you add the "Jumbo Universal Remote Control" from Ace Hardware to your shopping list on the BF site, it just might give you special access to some "other" stuff later on that might not otherwise be visible. Shhhhhhhhhh.......

    on-line deals?

It is way to soon to know these things. Check back in a month or so.
  15. Moved to the Deal Discussion forum as this has nothing to do with Black Friday.
  16. already posted: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=84247
  17. Please post it here if you don't mind. We don't allow links to other BF sites as they have spammed us in the past.
  18. Even with a myspace page, Wal-Mart could very quickly get it taken down. I would say just keep checking the forum here. While the ad might not be posted on the main Black Friday site, the info (or a link to where to get it) will almost guaranteed be posted here on the forum and we'll keep it up as long as possible.
  19. If they really wanted to keep it a secret, they should unveil the ad on their web site only on 11/19. It would cut down on the possible sources of a leak with there being no printing or distribution.
  20. From today's article on CNet/ZDNet: So Best Buy and Circuit City seem to "get it". They know that a site like this won't hurt them in any major way and will likely help generate buzz for their sale. Sure they won't officially endorse the site, but they won't send the lawyers either. (of course don't be shocked to see a letter from either or both of them in the coming weeks, lol)
  21. They could, but anyone who registers at any time during the registration period gets put into a random drawing for the first however many spots, so there would be no advantage to getting there early.
  22. CNet story: http://www.news.com/Wal-Mart-tries-to-stop-early-Black-Friday-ad-posts/2100-1024_3-6214424.html
  23. I am 99% sure the Wal-Mart ad has not been leaked already. Anyone claiming to have it is probably just saying that to get people to go to their site (or they have last year's ad).
