  1. It is this one: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5006894 for $898. Keep in mind this is a monitor, not an actual HDTV. It has no tuner built-in, so you'll need a cable box, satellite box, external HDTV tuner or DVR to get programming on it.
  2. The $179 ater rebate price will be about as low as they'll go. They went for around $150-155 last year because Amazon also had a $25 off $125 coupon, but they stopped those coupons about a year ago. The rebate also ends in a week or so.
  3. The only issue with tags is the people starting the threads have to use them. We already have people posting deals with the subject "jc penney" and nothing else. i doubt they will also be adding tags. Although maybe I can get some volunteers to tag at least the deal threads (in exchange for a GC or something) I think the prefixes might be useful in some forums like sweepstakes - we could have the daily entries, the 1x entries, etc... we have the 1X icon for those now, but prefixes would be better and would easily be sorted then.
  4. I just added a new mobile phone / PDA skin for the forum. You can select it from the bottom-left menu of any forum page. I'm still tweaking the colors and such, but feel free to play around with it. And there is a link at the bottom of every page in the mobile version to go back to the current skin :)
  5. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20071125/D8T4EQR00.html I thought you all said the deals sucked? No numbers from any specific store yet, so we'll see. There's a few stores I hope have low sales...
  6. It looks like they are trying to turn you (currently simple) profile pages into myspace-type pages with "friends", comments, customization, etc... If we decided to implement that we could scrap the member pages as this would be much more integrated. And as for server resources, during 10 months of the year it won't be a problem, and if it ends up being one for the other 2 we can always temporarily turn them off. But I don't see them being much of an issue that way. Personally I like the new spam management. Delete all the posts from a spammer and ban them all from one screen

  9. vBulletin (the forum software we use here on GD) just yesterday posted about many new features that will be in the next version of vBulletin (3.7) due sometime soon. Lots of new interesting features for both users and mods/admins. Take a look: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=249460 and let us know which of the new features you like best and would like to see implemented here when the new version comes out :)
  10. For those of you who might be interested, here are some numbers on traffic to the site for the week leading up to Black Friday (Saturday 11/17 to Friday 11/23) compared to the same week last year: Black Friday Site (http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com) Total Visitors: up 14.6% from 2006 Unique Visitors: up 11.8% from 2006 GottaDeal.com Forums (http://forums.gottadeal.com) Total Visitors: up 51.7% from 2006 Unique Visitors: up 66.9% from 2006 So the Black Friday site had a little more traffic compared to last year, which I didn't expect since we had much less major media coverage this year (and a lot of the big coverage came in mid-October because of the WM fiasco), plus there are now about 1,278 Black Friday sites out there trying to take our visitors away, but I guess it didn't work too well for them And the forum traffic jump was absolutely huge this year. We more than doubled the previous record for number of users online on Wednesday afternoon. And it wasn't just the traffic - you guys are posting like crazy too. I took a look around today and once again we had the most posts of any Black Friday forum this year (which doesn't even include our Holiday forum), and that includes the BF forums at huge deal sites with millions of visitors. So give yourselves a pat on the back for not just lurking, but participating as well. And don't stop now - the forum is open all year :) Thanks to all our forum members and especially our invaluable team of moderators for a great Black Friday 2007 here on the forum!
  11. I've said it many times on here, but just a reminder that GottaDeal is open all year. Black Friday is just something we do to get people to find out about this great site that is always open. Where other BF sites shut down, we are just getting started. You'll notice a lot of GottaDeal regulars who weren't too excited about Black Friday, because we get great deals, if not better, all year round because of the hundreds of deals posted here each week. So bookmark the main site (http://www.gottadeal.com), bookmark the forums here (http://forums.gottadeal.com) and stick around. And another perk of sticking around - because there is less traffic, you have a better chance of getting the best deals before they sell out
  12. Dell has confirmed that these are now sold out. Sorry guys. But I'm guessing they'll have another big sale like this on Monday for Cyber Monday, so check back then.
  13. That domain is the affiliate company's domain, so there isn't much I can do to have it changed. It really shouldn't be blocked by Spybot as it's not really an ad domain, and the affiliate people have tried to get them to remove it and they haven't, so there isn't much I can do.
  14. Just got this: This is referring to the original link (LINK) I'll keep you all updated... It may have sold out, or they may have deactivated the coupon code until they fix the error page on the original link. Stay tuned...
  15. Garmin c330 back in stock on walmart.com: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?dest=9999999997&product_id=3556744&sourceid=36370385680829197926
  16. Yes it can. It comes with 2 512MB sticks of RAM (to get the 1GB total), so you could easily upgrade those to 2 1GB sticks to double it, and it would cost you less than half of what Dell is charging (and it's not hard at all to do it yoruself).
  17. If you are going to just be using this for basic tasks - surfing the web, e-mail, office-type stuff, then you can keep the Sempron. If you are going to be doing anything more advanced with it, then you might want to pay the extra $50, but for most things you won't notice much of a difference.
  18. Now that the stores are open, I'm closing this thread. Please post your experiences with lines (as well as what you got!) in this thread: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=90818
  19. Many Kmart BF specials are online now, including doorbusters.
  20. OK, apparently this is not the exact same configuration as earlier this week. So, follow these directions: 1. Go here: http://www.gottadeal.com/Deal/21687 2. Choose any upgrades you want (or leave as is for $399 price) 3. Add to cart 4. In shopping cart, enter coupon code RH23N?MWL3KF1C Price will be $399 plus any upgrades you choose This one comes with the Sempron processor which apparently is what it is supposed to, so that's not an error like I first thought. If you want a little faster processor, add the Athlon X2 for $50 more - it's your call :) Sorry for the confusion, but the deal is still there so if you want a $399 laptop, you still can get one
  21. Yes I have e-mailed them to see what's going on. This is very rare for Dell. These kinds of deals usually are automatically set up to release. The thing is the coupon works, just the link to the special configuration isn't set up yet.
  22. many of the doorbusters now online, plus $10 off $50 http://www.sears.com
  23. That was the link for the sale earlier this week. Going through that link won't let you use the discount coupon.
