Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008
Brad replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
NOTE: Starting with next month's thread (August), I'm going to start asking that when you post about your clearance finds that you use the format posted in last month's thread. This will allow for the top post summary, as well as the future cell phone features. Therefore I strongly suggest that you get ready for the changes this month by starting to follow the format. Again, when you want to report an item, do it like this: ### Item Title/Description, Price/Discount, DCPI/ASIN Info, etc... Do one line for each item. The DCPI info is not mandatory, but if you have it, it would help others. So for example: ### 072-08-0663 - KitchenAid Coffeemaker Model KCM5111 - $49.98 ### GPX AM/FM CD alarm clock radio - $9.98 ### Assorted Pet Accessories 90% off You can add other comments to your post (such as what store, comments about the items) but for the actual list, just use the ### at the beginning of each line, and that will tell the soon-to-be-implemented script that you are entering an actual clearance item find, and those lines will be combined into one master list at the top of the thread organized by date, and will also be used for any eventual cell phone service. Also, next month's thread will likely have the new, updated OP, so if there is any info that you think would be useful to include every month, please PM it to me. Thanks. -

GottaDeal.com PRESENTS THE Post a Deal, Win a Gift Card SUMMER GIVEAWAY Introducing the next giveaway here on GottaDeal.com! After the huge success of the last 4 giveaways, we're not wasting any time and are starting another one right away with very similar rules. Over the next couple months, we are going to award giveaway entries to forum members who post qualifying* deals in the Online Hot Deals forum. You can earn a maximum of 5 entries per day - one for each qualifying* deal you post. At the end of the contest period, we will choose 4 winners. Each winner will receive a $50 gift card from the store or web site of their choice. In addition, the member who posts the most qualifying deals during the entire contest period will receive a digital picture frame! OFFICIAL RULES Promotion period begins on June 16, 2008 at 12:00am Eastern Time and ends on August 31, 2008 at 11:59pm Eastern Time. All registered GottaDeal.com forum members are eligible to participate in this promotion, including temporary and permanent moderators. Members found to have created multiple forum accounts for the purposes of accumulating additional entries will be disqualified from the promotion. You will receive one drawing entry for each qualifying* deal thread posted in the Online Hot Deals forum during the contest period. Only your first five qualifying* deal threads will earn you entries each day. Each daily period starts at 12:00am and ends at 11:59pm Eastern Time. Grand and runner up prize winners will be randomly selected on September 1, 2008 from all entries earned during the promotion period. Winners will be contacted via private message and/or e-mail to claim their prize. If a prize is not claimed within 14 days, it will be forfeited. * Qualifying Deals: In order for a deal thread to qualify for an entry for this promotion, it must satisfy ALL of the following criteria: 1. The thread's title must include the name of the retailer the deal is for. 2. The post must contain a link, even if it's just a link to the retailer's home page. 3. The deal must be from one of our partner retailers (see list below). 4. The deal must must be unique and not be a repost of a recently posted deal. We reserve the right to disqualify any deal thread for any reason. Besides these mandatory criteria, we also ask that you be as descriptive as possible in your thread title. Where possible, include an image in your post. If there is a specific method to get the deal, provide step-by-step instructions. If a coupon code is needed, be sure to include the code in your post. Please do not directly copy and paste deals from other sites forums - you may "borrow" the deal, but type the title and post in your own words. Directly copied posts may be disqualified from counting for the promotion. http://www.gottadeal.com/images/partners.gif CONTEST UPDATES AND HELPFUL HINTS: PLEASE SEARCH BEFORE POSTING DEALS! RE-POSTS WILL BE DELETED! MAKE SURE YOUR DEAL IS A LEGIT DEAL AND NOT JUST "FILLER" TO EARN AN ENTRY! THESE "FILLER" DEAL THREADS MAY NOT COUNT TOWARDS THE CONTEST! PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ THE ENTIRE CONTEST DESCRIPTION BELOW YES, IT'S LONG, BUT IT WILL SAVE YOU TIME TO DO THINGS RIGHT THE FIRST TIME SIMILAR DEALS POSTED FROM THE SAME RETAILER ON THE SAME DAY MAY BE MERGED INTO ONE MASTER THREAD - COMBINE DEALS WHERE POSSIBLE! PLEASE REMEMBER TO USE DOLLAR SIGNS $$$ IN YOUR SUBJECTS AND AVOID ALL CAPS! DO NOT POST DEALS FOR ON-GOING SITE OFFERS THAT ARE NOT LIMITED TIME, SUCH AS A FREE SHIPPING OFFER THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOREVER, ETC... THESE DEALS MAY BE DELETED AND WON'T COUNT TOWARD GIVEAWAY! If you have any questions about the promotion, please reply to this thread or PM me. As always, this promotion is being overseen by the accounting firm of Banana, Apple, Orange and Pineapple.

Has anyone ordered from these sites?
Brad replied to Jennifer0530's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Just be aware that these are not official DVD releases - they are basically bootlegs taken directly from TV (either via VHS or DVR likely) and then burned to DVD. So don't expect quality. You'd be better off waiting for the official release. -

We've removed a lot of the "personal" home page links because they were being abused by spammers, so as of now we're not going to add anything like that.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008
Brad replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
New thread for June. I'm starting it a little early so the weekend posts aren't split between 2 threads. Just some friendly reminders: * This thread is for Target CLEARANCE discussion only. * Discussion of Target's weekly ad items belongs in Offline Hot Deals. * Discussion of Target store policies not directly related to clearance items belongs in Deal Discussion. * Off-topic chat should be kept to a minimum or taken to PMs - these posts may be deleted without warning. * Please PM me with any links or other useful info you believe should be added to the OP. Also, with the busy BF season just around the corner and the increased traffic coming, I'm thinking about some changes to this thread including a newly written OP as well as a feature which will continuously update the OP (or maybe the 2nd post) with a list of everyone's finds in one big, easy to read list (with DCPI info). Other sites do this and if you all were willing to help by following a standard format for listing your items, it could also work here and make this thread even more useful. There is also the possibility of a service which could send you a text message or e-mail to your cell phone with the latest finds if you are at Target and are wondering what everyone else is finding that day. This won't happen for another month or two at the earliest, but if you have thoughts, let me know. All of these features rely on this thread staying on topic with actual clearance finds, so your cooperation with that will make the thread even better. Thanks. -

OOS again. I'm just going to leave the thread in this forum for a little longer to see if it comes back in stock again rather than keep moving it back and forth to the Dead Deals board. -

A reminder that this is the Target CLEARANCE thread - if you want to discuss weekly ad deals and how to make the most of them, feel free to post a new thread in the Offline Deals forum, but it's getting difficult to find the actual clearance deals in this thread with all the discussion about general weekly ad items. Thanks. -
Sears.com Private Offer: Extra 10% off almost everything 5/20-5/21
Brad replied to Brad's topic in Online Hot Deals
Use the contact form here: http://www.gottadeal.com/Contact and send me your name, order # and contact info and I'll forward it to our affiliate rep to see if there is anything they can do. No promises, but it's worth a shot. But in the future, with any kind of discount at any site, you shouldn't ever hit that final "confirm" button unless you see the discount show up first. -

Brad replied to Brad's topic in Online Hot Deals
No clue. Has anyone gotten the 10% to show up with anything? If not I'll have to send an e-mail. They made such a big deal about this promotion and so far it's been disappointing to say the least... -

should be working now - i e-mailed our rep and they were having a problem with it. -
http://www.olsonnet.com/images/sears.gif Sears sent this offer to just a few sites to promote - you can't get it just by going to Sears.com. So if you were thinking of getting something from Sears, consider getting it now - the more success they have, the more likely they are to offer us more exclusive deals in the coming months... :)

If I get some time soon I'll try to get another search box up there, but the Search drop-down does the exact same thing.
