How to enter: just reply to this thread with a Black Friday-themed haiku. For those unfamiliar with it, a haiku is a 3-line poem with the first, second and third lines having 5, 7 and 5 syllables respectively. It does not have to ryhme, but should create some kind of imagery in the reader's head, so be creative! An example Black Friday haiku would be: people skipping lines (5 syllables) crashing carts into others (7 syllables) glad i stay at home (5 syllables) Limit one entry per member (although you can post as many haikus as you'd like). Entries will be accepted until 9pm ET on Sunday night. At that point I'll randomly choose 5 entries and those members will receive Black Friday t-shirts! Good luck to all! http://i.gottadeal.com/main/images/merch/bfshirt2011.gif

Listing: http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/BlackFridaySales/Store/HarborFreight Scan: http://i.gottadeal.com/blackfriday/scans/GottaDeal-HarborFreight-BF2011.pdf we're still figuring out where we're going to post the scans, but the above link will work for now.

Prediction contest has closed now that the Harbor Freight ad has been posted (and those who tried to "guess" it was HF after the ad was leaked had their guesses deleted - shame on you!). Random winners will be chosen later today. If you want to be entered for the random drawing, just reply to this thread with anything you'd like.

Farm & Fleet also has their catalog online. Both are linked in the latest BF site post.

It's an interesting idea. I just don't know if we'd get the number of volunteers it would take to make it truly useful. That's asking a lot of someone during an already busy time. But if people are interested in doing this work, post here and let us know and we'll go from there based on the level of interest from prospective "captains"
-
Reminder: you need to post the store AND your date prediction.

Heard a rumor that HPB is not having a BF sale this year... (not really I just want to get some new predictions, haha)

OK, we've done this one before and it's always been fun: simply reply to this thread with your guess for the date and store for the first ad to be posted on the Black Friday site. Only post one guess and if you edit your post more than 10 minutes after your initial post, your entry won't count, so make your best guess now! For help, view this chart for 2006-2010 dates: http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/dates.php I'll accept entries until Wednesday at 12:00pm ET. At that point I'll randomly select 5 people who posted their prediction and they'll win a Black Friday t-shirt. If anyone ends up being correct on both the date and store for the first ad, I'll send you a full GD prize pack with another GD shirt, reusable grocery bags and much more GD swag. If more than one person is correct, you all win prize packs. We'll use eastern time zone to determine which day a late-night ad is posted on. And while I've got your attention, check out our big Holiday Giveaway where you can win your share of $2,500 in prizes and all you have to do to get an entry is post a deal here on the forum. Good luck to everyone! Also, if the first ad comes out before the contest ends, there will be no additional winners beyond those who already had their guesses posted (but you can still reply to the thread with a comment to have a chance to be chosen randomly for the 5 shirts). http://i.gottadeal.com/main/images/merch/bfshirt2011.gif

Bumping this thread before someone posts a new one. Like we do every year, we've been deleting a lot of older threads (expired contests, expired freebies, dead deals, etc...) to make the forum DB a little smaller for tonight's move to the Black Friday servers, so if you see your post count and various forums' total posts go down, DON'T PANIC!!!!
-
We're hoping for a big crowd from all the people having forum withdrawals when the forum is closed. The "we're closed" message will include a link directly to the webcast, so as long as the server is accessible, people should be joining.

I wouldn't get too excited about this. Target has been having all sorts of trouble with their new web site, so this could have been just a placeholder page that they loaded up with random products to see what the page would look like. Or it could have been legit, but even if it was, it's just a very, very small percentage of their total ad and without prices, is not of much value for planning purposes.

Once they launch their "brand" pages, we'll have one. In the meantime, feel free to add me with the link under my name to the left -
While the advance notice of deals could be useful, in exchange you are giving amazon access to your entire browsing history, not just when you are on their site. Just something to keep in mind...
-
Now that Target is (or will be soon) free of their Amazon relationship which was holding them back, I expect them to start site-to-store shipping within the next year.
-
Press release: http://walmartstores.com/pressroom/news/10717.aspx They also have a new shipping option on Walmart.com where you get free shipping if you spend $45 in qualifying items. If their BF items are part of the hundreds of thousands of "qualifying" items, it would answer a lot of complaints each year about the high shipping charges for those who shop Walmart's BF sale online. Info: http://www.walmart.com
-
If someone sent it today, it would be posted and would remain posted until I heard otherwise from Walmart.
-
wonder if they forgot this year...

Amazon Toy Clearance Sale Thread - Post Deals Here!
Brad replied to Brad's topic in Online Hot Deals
The other thread accidentally got deleted (luckily there weren't too many deals posted yet and many were no longer available anyway...) so here is a new thread. It's still pretty early, so don't expect too many deals right now, but as the weeks go by, this thread should get very busy. -
Amazon Toy Clearance Sale Thread It's getting to be the holiday season, time for GottaDeal members to start shopping for great toy deals on Amazon.com! 1) Please only post toy deals that have Amazon.com listed as the Seller (which makes them eligible for Super Saver Shipping or Prime Shipping. Off-topic posts will be deleted or moved to the other discussion thread. 2) Please keep ALL discussion of the deals in the Amazon Toy Discussion thread: HERE 3) You are able to post more than 1 toy in each post, you can separate the deals if you'd like in your post 4) When posting a toy deal find, please remember to post the following: The toy NAME, the PRICE of the toy (including the original price along with the sale price is best) and a LINK to the toy As your reminder, please post opinions of toys, other places to buy toys, Amazon.com customer service issues, etc in the Amazon Toy Discussion Thread So, with that in mind, let's get to posting Amazon toy finds! If you have questions on how to post the deals, please feel free to send me a Private Message or post your question over in the Discussion Thread: HERE

Nope. Those were all cleared out. This is a new design though compared to the old black ones.

Even though I still have a lot of regular GD shirts to give away, I have decided to order a small batch of Black Friday shirts this year. Consider them a "limited edition" The shirts will be the same design we had last year, but in special, rare, limited edition black this year (they were navy blue last year). We'll have sizes large through 2XL (most will be XL however). I haven't decided if I will make some available for purchase again or if they will all just be given away. I'll have more on that later, but I just wanted to give everyone an update. Here is approximately what the shirts will look like (although I think we changed "TEAM" to "CREW" because of suggestions last year): http://i.gottadeal.com/main/images/merch/bfshirt2011.gif

I think bigjimslade said his next webcast (see the thread at the top of this forum for details) will be focused on camping and he'll show what he brings. But while you wait, I'm sure there are others here who can give you tips as well. You can also search the archives from previous years for ideas.
