It was bound to happen. Back a decade ago we'd post the Walmart ad and have front page stories on CNN, MSN, etc... that mentioned GD. Walmart wanted that coverage for themselves and to get you to go to their site, download their app, follow them on Facebook. Other stores followed. But it's nice to get clean digital copies vs pics someone took with their 8-year old camera. As more people do their BF week shopping online the actual paper ads won't matter as much.

From yesterday's press release: We'll have our usual Online Black Friday Tracker with a full schedule of when all the stores begin their sales up and running in about a week.

Yeah I think we used to even have contests where you had to post a favorite recipe. Searching the archive for recipes should bring them up.

They still haven't actually said we could post it, but considering it's on their site, that's enough of an OK for me. I also got a letter from the same lawyers about the Sam's Club ad - days after the ad was posted on the Sam's Club web site. Those lawyers are sure earning that $$$.

Even if you don't think you'll use it, having a Dot is good for those times when Amazon offers Alexa-exclusive deals. I'm guessing they'll drop to around $35 during BF week.

The fine print just says "gift card valid on future purchase" which probably means, yeah, you could take the card, go shopping and use it to pay that same day. It should be activated.

I don't know. When I logged into my Target account on the wish list app it showed up and I was able to get the code. Make sure you create a wish list first (you don't have to add any items to it). You could always try just creating a new Target account just to get the code.

Last year Walmart put out a press release in the afternoon with 2 pages of the ad and details about their sale, then the full ad came out around midnight. So considering we didn't get a press release this afternoon, maybe they are waiting until tomorrow. Or they might not be doing the "sneak preview" press release this year and will release the ad later tonight.
