Ooooh thanks for starting this thread and thank you Crue, on the other thread, for posting what you did. Maybe you can come over here and repost your links. I have that stuff in my Amazon shopping cart and I'll be watching it like a hawk. :tongue1:

There's gonna be at least a few people interested in buying these books so this is a good thread.

Now in honor of Eric Northman...

BRING ON THE TRUE BLOOD DEALS! :D

LOVE IT!

I didn't want to highjack the awesome DVD thread, so I thought starting a new one was a good idea.. . It was right?! right?

I cannot find Book #1 for the promotion...that's probably how they get you to buy the whole book collection.. ???

Reposting info from True Blood DVD thread:

There's a 7 pack of the books at Amazon (currently $30.76) here...

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0441017770/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

and a pre-order for the 8 book set coming out 9/29 (currently $40.27) here...

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0441018238/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

Put them in your cart and the price will jump up and down every other day. I've got it in my cart, waiting for it to go under $30, but they haven't quite done it yet. LOL I'm cheap, so I borrowed them from the library, but want to read them again...as soon as they drop below $30!

Also, there are two books out (hard to get/find) that have a few of the novels together:

Dead by Day (books 1-2)

Dead in Dixie (books 3-5)

You can find them on Amazon from 3rd party sellers and on Ebay (of course).

And I like that shirt! lol I like Eric in the show much more now that they've cut his hair too...don't get me wrong, I'm all about the long-haired rock star look...he just didn't carry it with that "do" they had on him.

anyone know how much longer the season is on for? I upgraded for some months to watch it and think times coming up:(

I did the same thing...here's the link to the True Blood page on Hbo.com.

http://www.hbo.com/trueblood/season2/

If you put your mouse/pointer on "episodes" at the bottom, it shows a total of 12 with 8 already highlighted (aired). So if they are only having 12 for the season, only 4 left. Bummer...that's a really short season IMO. :(

I bought mine from Literary Guild.com. I have been a member for years , but I buy when it's buy one get one free with free shipping. The books run about 9 - 12 dollars apiece. I bought the hard to find ones with 2 or 3 novels in each volume which saves tons of money. There is a new one out book 9. Dead and Gone. I hate the series because they completely changed things from the way they are in the book. If you join Literary Guild you get very good prices. At Christmas when it was b1g1 and free shipping, I bought tons of books on there for 9.99 apiece, even expensive Taste of Home cookbooks wihich had a years subscription to the magazine with it.

Would these be good for 14 yr old girl (daughter), she loved the Twilight books

I would say no, as they are a little on the "sexier" side of the vampire stuff...a bit too much for my thinking for a 14 yr old girl. But if she's a really mature 14 yr old, maybe, but you know your daughter better than anyone. Maybe if you read the first book, you could get a feel for the tone of the books to make a more informed decision.

I agree with Crue2001 I have a 15yr old son who I would absolutely NOT allow to read these NOR watch the show! He's very mature for his age, but no way! This is your daughter so you know her maturity level, but they are very "graphic in detail" in the uh hum... private time between characters.

The show is much more graphic than the books IMO, but I wouldn't suggest either for that age range.

No, she would be better off with the Vampire Academy series or the House of Night series. Both of the series are included in the 4 for 3 promotion and are considered Young Adult reading as is the Twilight series. Hope that helps.

Agreed...the House of Night series would be right up her alley age wise. :yup: I haven't read the Vampire Academy series, so I can't give an opinion on that one.

Thank you for the opinions, I will skip this series but look into the others. I was looking for some Christmas presents on the smaller $ scale since there will probably be some bigger $ ones and I like to have some fillers.

The House of Night series has a 4 book set coming out October 27th & Amazon has it available for pre-order right now at $23.75.
