The sale starts on the Sunday, July 17th.

Upgrades:

Memory - Don't do it. You can get a 512MB stick for <$50.

Double hard drive - maybe worth it for convenience, but for $30 more than a 40GB, you are looking at the 160GB range if you were to upgrade it seperately.

Printer - Don't know, it depends on the printer they are bundling.

CD Burner - Not a bad deal. I definitely wouldn't buy a computer without at least a CD burner, but you can get a CDRW / DVD-rom combo drive for ~$30 - $40 or a DVD-R drive in the ~$40 range.

Thanks for the scan mrn. 1 potential problem is that its coming from CC's custom build center. At one time this was a mandatory 1 month delay in shipping. Check with your local CC before you lay down the $$.

2 questions:

When does the sale start?

With the upgrades, is this a GREAT deal or just so-so.?

For an entry level computer yes this is VERY HOT.

The usual low end Dell offers comparable specs, 17" CRT (not 15" LCD) for $349 with free shipping.
