mrn8 Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 It's not too bad. I've gotten better deals, though, when Dell does their big Dell Outlet sales. There could be one coming up the end of this month, to boost their 2nd Quarter numbers.
Mike Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 CC will have a HP tower with almost identical specs with a 15" LCD for $199 after rebates starting this Sunday.
Aaron Posted July 13, 2005 Author Posted July 13, 2005 CC will have a HP tower with almost identical specs with a 15" LCD for $199 after rebates starting this Sunday. Thanks CheapArse! :)
RossMAN Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 CC will have a HP tower with almost identical specs with a 15" LCD for $199 after rebates starting this Sunday.Do you have the model numbers for the PC and LCD? Thanks :)
RossMAN Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Not on me, I can get them by tomorrow (< noon PST)Thanks, if you would remember to do that - I would appreciate it :)
Aaron Posted July 14, 2005 Author Posted July 14, 2005 CheapArse, how would you get this information?
nineofus Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 2 questions: When does the sale start? With the upgrades, is this a GREAT deal or just so-so.?
mrn8 Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 The sale starts on the Sunday, July 17th. Upgrades: Memory - Don't do it. You can get a 512MB stick for <$50. Double hard drive - maybe worth it for convenience, but for $30 more than a 40GB, you are looking at the 160GB range if you were to upgrade it seperately. Printer - Don't know, it depends on the printer they are bundling. CD Burner - Not a bad deal. I definitely wouldn't buy a computer without at least a CD burner, but you can get a CDRW / DVD-rom combo drive for ~$30 - $40 or a DVD-R drive in the ~$40 range.
Aaron Posted July 14, 2005 Author Posted July 14, 2005 Wow, that's amazing.. RossMAN, looks like it's time for you to stock up your mini-best buy warehouse
Mike Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Thanks for the scan mrn. 1 potential problem is that its coming from CC's custom build center. At one time this was a mandatory 1 month delay in shipping. Check with your local CC before you lay down the $$.
RossMAN Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 2 questions: When does the sale start? With the upgrades, is this a GREAT deal or just so-so.?For an entry level computer yes this is VERY HOT. The usual low end Dell offers comparable specs, 17" CRT (not 15" LCD) for $349 with free shipping.
Mike Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 BTW Ross, I don't have any model #s b/c its not something CC carries in-store. Sorry EDIT: Though the LCD looks like the HP VS15
