mmouse1 Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 My son is really tuff on backbacks, he will be starting middle school in the fall and I am sure it will be worse. I have heard good things about Lands End, anyone else have a favorite? Of course, I am looking for a good deal too
stacy0479 Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 I had a Jansport all through out HS and DS has a Jansport. He will be going into 6th grade and he has had it since 3rd grade and it is still in good shape.

alleyc Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I am a huge fan of North Face .. if you can find them one sale will last forever( ebags is a good site for backpack deals)
tokanm Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 LL Bean hands down. They have a free lifetime replacement warranty on them too. The best $40 you will ever spend. DS22 has had the same backpack since he was 10 and it is still going strong. I even wash it and dry it to keep is cleaner looking
shannon91c Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 We like the Dakine bags, my DD17 has had hers for 5 years and it is still in great shape.
nick_jenni_jocelyn Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I 2nd the LL Bean. I bought my dD one last year when she started Kindergarten and she is using it again this year and will for many more years. So far it looks brand new and i have washed and dried it recently with her starting school yesterday. My DH has a Jansport that he has had since the 10th grade... he is now 31 and still uses it! He carries his work laptop, papers, folders, extra set of clothes for when he plays basketball at his lunch. That backpack his been everywhere and in all kinds of conditions and still has not 1 hole in it, the straps arent worn, nothing is tearing.
Country-Fan Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Kinda like my $50 SwissGear I got for FREE at Staples after rebates and coupons.
elite2058 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 I love llbean backpacks. They have lasted with 3 kids using for multiple uses besides just school.
tnewendorp Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I agree! LL Bean is the way to go! They cost a little more, but it's worth it in the long run!
