Are there ever deals on an X-box Gold Membership?

DH's nephew just asked for an x-box gold membership. It looks like I can get the card pretty easily but in true Gottadeal fashion, I just wanted to check and see if there are any deals on them first . All I see is the regular price of $49.99 for 12 months plus a bonus month.
