Nancy102
Does anyone have this system? I wonder if it would be any good for a special needs child having trouble with reading?
bovichtj
Thanks OP. You can only use 1 code per order. I bought Scooby Doo and Green Eggs & Ham for my son, who just turned 5. Nancy, I think it would be pretty good for special needs kids. A lot of work with letter sounds and how to put words together... recognizing spoken word in print and the like. It's nice to hear someone else reading, and the system seems very patient. Requires decent hand/eye control to specifically tap the letters, though... HTH. lakj98
Thank you. I just ordered three books. Just so everyone know, the code for $3.00 off your tag book purchase, it took $3.00 off of each book for me. So it made each book $6.99. My total with shipping for 3 books was $28.54. rebecca7675
does anyone that has had the system for a while recommend any particular books? dd is almost 4 We have had it for a few weeks now and my ds 4 likes the I spy book, Cars, Kung Fu Panda. He has a few more and they all keep his attention. He really likes the games at the end of them. But those three are the ones he comes back to over and over. I love the system so far as he seems to be learning some reading and sounds from it.
bovichtj
What do you use for these books?http://photosnag.com/img/1789/b08u1226pybi/deadhorse.gifYou need the TAG reading pen. Here is a link: http://www.amazon.com/LeapFrog-30704-LeapFrog%C2%AE-Reading-System/dp/B00134O7QU/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1231293667&sr=8-1 Amazon had a huge deal with the pen and 1 book for $22 just before Christmas... cchance
DD5 got this for Christmas and we love it! She loves being able to read "by herself" and likes all of the different voices in it. There are also other activities they can do. I also try and let her read it herself and if she gets to a word that she needs help with, she can just point at it and it will tell her. I ended up getting an extra pen because you can only put about 5 books on it. (You have to download them from your computer.) I was at Wal-Mart last week and they had the systerm (pen+book) and travel sets (pen, book, storage case) marked down to $18. I was needing a storage case and they were $15 by themselves... I ordered 3 of the tag books @ 9.99 with the $3 off code for 26.92 on 12/29 and mine is getting delivered today by UPS. There was a holiday in there which I why I think it took a little longer than normal.
