I've only found her after market for over $100 and ya well I can't afford that! She sold for about $49 at Walmart and a few other stores. I've looked EVERYWHERE for her! If anyone finds one I would be willing to Paypal you the money if you have good feedback and charge me the real sale price not a higher marked up one.

if you can find an issue of Barbie Bazzar magazine you can probabably find one in classisfied section, at or near MSRP. I used to be able to buy Bazzar at narnes and noble, but they quit selling it about a year ago, MAYBE SOMEONE ELSE HAS MORE INFO (maybe they quit publishing the magazine??) , I take barbie very seriously! BTW I have the furst issue of Barbie Bazzar tucked away neatly and most of the barbie "companies" that sold in the publication in 1983 (I think, could be 1988) are still selling Barbie today. Barbie a sound investment, even today :). With regard to original question, Most Barbie people love their dolls (ah hem, I know I do) and are willing to help another doll lover whenever possible. I will post a want in my local craigslist classified. If someone has one, I would gladly pick one up for you at the not blown up prices!

Never mind, no matter I haven;t been able to find the magazine, I found the explanation:

"I have sad news for all Barbie doll collectors. Barbie Bazaar magazine, a fixture on the Barbie doll collecting scene since 1988, announced yesterday that it is ceasing publication. Their last issue is the April/May 2006 issue. Their other magazine, Haute Doll, will now include Barbie coverage, and the cover price will increase from $6.95 to $9.95. For the official announcement, read Barbie Bazaar Ceasing Publication".

The magazine they reference does still have a lot of doll dealers from the "old" barbie days. Many of the dealers in the back sell dolls after market but at no (or very little) mark-up from the original prices. You may want to check it out, if you don't I will.
