onegr8mom Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I had an item that was to arrive on the 24th and it still has not arrived. I called CS and they said that FedEx had delays and that it will arrive on the 26th. I no longer want the item because it was going to be a gift from Santa for ds. Can I refuse the package and will Amazon automatically credit my account? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
Kayakmom Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Yes, refuse the shipment and they will credit you back. It may take up to 30 days but I've read that it usually takes much less. Amazon is pretty efficient. You may just want to call and let them know you'll be refusing it because it was not there in time. I read a post at Amazon the other day that people's Prime accounts were being cancelled for refusing too many shipments when that is what the reps tell them to do! I have a feeling this may be people who are refusing lots of shipments to make up for the new price adjustment policy, though.
onegr8mom Posted December 26, 2008 Author Posted December 26, 2008 Does it matter if the item is sold by a different seller, but fulfilled by Amazon? I never returned a package before. How do you know that they even get the item back? I could not accept the item and they could keep it and say they never received it back? Does that make sense? Do I have to write on the package "Return to Sender", or just not accept it at all from FedEx? Thanks!
Azzycat Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I have an Amazon return question as well. Which choice exactly do I choose to return things and have Amazon pay for shipping? I've tried a couple choices and they are telling me to pay. I ordered the other items since they were cheaper and there is no PA. But now I need to send these things back! help!
skyzen17 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Just call the third party seller directly that you want to return the product. In my case they mailed me a return label. I printed it, pasted it on box and dropped the box in a UPS dropbox. They credited entire amount back within 5 days. So, no shipping paid by me.

MidwestMama Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 I've used "Item did not meet expectations" and they covered shippingI had used Item Not as Described, which it wasn't. But I had opened it (as I didn't KNOW they weren't as described) and had customer service call me and they sent me a return label. They said there would be NO return shipping charge, and I checked on this several times in the conversation. It came through today, deducting $1.84 for shipping. I called them and they said they'd give me a $20 credit for the problem!!! OK!
