Oddly enough it looks like you can buy that same desktop now for $199, unless I'm missing something. Doesn't look like it comes with wireless but you could grab a wireless usb adapter probably.

The BF one is 2gb memory and 320gb hard drive, and you get the 18" lcd monitor.

Well we have a wireless router, its just plugged into another computer in the office. Is there slots to be able to plug in a Wireless G card, or do I need a Usb one?

You don't plug the card into the router, you plug the wireless adapter into the computer.

Basically, you have two methods of connecting the computer to the internet: by cable or wirelessly.

If you cannot run cable from the computer to where the wireless router is (since you can plug up to four computers into the router usually by ethernet cable), then you can connect wireless. You need to buy a wireless adapter. The easiest one to use is a USB adapter, which plugs into a USB slot on your computer, and then you run the set up from there to connect to your wireless router.

and a printer, Anti-Virus software, and Vista Home Premium versus XP Home

I still say its not a bad deal. I'm not WOW'd (but that was last year's catch phrase), but its not bad.

I agree.... Last year the regular BF pc was $399 but the "secret sale" BF pc was $199. I am looking at this one for a cheap upgrade for mine and $299 aint that bad.

HP Pavilion Quad Core Desktop w/ 22" LCD & Canon Printer $599.96

If I'm looking at the right one:

HP - Phoenix Special Edition Desktop with AMD Phenom™ X4 9150e Quad-Core Processor

Model: a6655f | SKU: 9074226

It has Vista Home Premium, 5GB RAM

22" Monitor + Printer

We have a relatively new monitor about the same size, I'd probably try to sell it locally to someone looking to upgrade. Might be time to upgrade our printer, or that will be sold too.

Was thinking about grabbing it early (see above post, I can't find the 'edit' button. Will they price match and give me the bonus items?

Anyone thinking of price matching on the day of:

1. Your BB may not have the customer service desk open that day for price matching.

2. All PM's have to be done during the sale hours

3. The combo may be a BF only deal, so you might not be able to find it out yet.

Definite YMMV.

Just went and got the advertised for BF computer - eMachines desktop with 18.5" monitor, Looks great, compact design. My local BB only had a few left so if your interested go get it while you can!!! Thanks for all the info.

You got the exact one listed in the BF ad for the price listed with the monitor and printer? Great deal but there is probably somethindifferent, they put them away until BF and they must have the minimum ammount listed in the ad for each store. Some stores will have more of the item but they must have at least the minimum listed or they could get in trouble for fraud.

By the way, the retail for that system with 1 gig memory and 160 gig hard drive without the printer or monitor is $299 on the eMachines wesite. It's a good deal for a nice compact computer if you are limited on space but want the power of a desktop.

Yes, got that computer with out the printer (POS) anyway, but I also realized that the computer on BF has double the RAM and HD. Guess I got lucky becasue I did get double the RAM but not the HD. Very nice computer with a 18.5" monitor, I thought 299.00 was a good price. WEnt back into BB today to see if they had any good deals on their "open box items" and one gentleman I spoke to said you might want to wait for BF (didnt give me any reason why, just said you might want to wait). Well I decided not to and got a 32" LCD HDTV for 329.00. I was a happy camper, and now with my S-video cable I can watch Live tv from online without paying $1 for cable/satellite. Just more $$$ to spend on BF at other places............And by the way BRAD, I am not to happy about not getting a Tee this year!!!

What brand 32"? Sounds like a good deal if you don't like standing in the lines. Personally I'd be disappointed if I didn't wait inline on BF for at least 10 hours or more, lol. When you start doint it you get adddicted and look forward to doing it each year. Even ifhey had it for the same price for all the items I wanted and got them all at the BF price prior to BF, I'd just find another line to get on, lol.
