I just bought him a Captains bed so we dont need the set of beds only the top one. I am in or near Jacksonville Fl. THX

3 boys Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Ask your local furniture dealer for discontinued sets... I got 2 sets for my twins for $125.00
trob67 Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 I dont even need a set. There is something called a bunkie mattress which the big lots guy said will work for a captains bed since I wont need the bottom mattress...But I have to go check the quality/thickness etc...
Rose0426 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 If you have a BJ's near you, check there. I know they sell them by separately.
3 boys Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 The bunkie boards are just some plywood wrapped in cloth

You're probably better off buying a real mattress.
trob67 Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 I think a bunkie mattress is only foam. You're probably better off buying a real mattress. Got the Serta Twin mattress for day beds and bunk beds. No bunkie board either just the mattress. $99....thanks everyone!
debbieshops2003 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I bought my son's (16) twin mattress at Sam's Club. It was the best price and a great mattress. He's really happy with it.
