Can someone tell me whats the difference with the Elite and the Arcade 360!!??

The Elite has a 120g hard drive. The Arcade has a either no hard drive or a very small one like 512mb. I wish they had this deal last year when I bought my son his Xbox. I ended up getting him the 20g, now they have a 60g also.

It also includes a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) port, a high-definition cable, and a premium black finish for the console.

The port and cable have to be bought seperately for the other system, from my understanding. And the black finish is pretty darn cool.

I just bought one -- thanks!!!

I believe the arcade does not have a hard drive to store games, the elite has a nice sized one but the failure rate on the elites is very high. Read about the rate somewhere. We have a core system or also now called the pro I believe, all can go online if you buy the xbox live gold subscription. Take a look at all 3 of the xbox's by price arcade is cheapest, core/pro is middle, the elite is most expensive, stay with the middle price one. We started w/ the original(core) at first release, it went out last year, we bought the elite while the other was sent back, went through 3 in 1 month, took it back, got money back and waited for ours to get back. We are looking at getting another Pro/Core if you can find them at Xmas as an additional unit for the other room...ours is on almost all day! Good investment!

BTW the differencewe in the core 20 gig hard drive older version and the pro is the new 60 gig hd. HTH

I would get the pro or maybe you can buy a core system, I wouldn't waste my money on an arcade especially if he's a real gamer. I doubt it finding a better deal, Amazon right now has the holiday bundle for $299.99 I think and has 2 full games included. Also saw another deal online for 5 games for a little more $350.ish I think. Remember the arcade version is for basically playing those arcade type games...not for saving your progress with full games like you see in stores...you'd have to get a seperate memory card for that...get one w/ a HD if you're going to spend the $. Good luck.

Thank you so much for your help!! When you say get the "pro" is that the same as the "Elite"??? My brother is not a gamer he's 12 years old and all his friends have the Xbox so he wants to play on line....my mother wont buy it for him b/c she got him the PS3 last year and well his friends dont have that....LoL....boys!

if he's not going to be saving too terribly much, it still may be worth doing the arcade and then going to microsoft to get the 20gb harddrive for it in the memory upgrade section. Last I saw the 20gb drives for these were around 30 bucks.
