RossMAN Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 If you receive a new PM look in the top right, the colors have changed to blue and orange. Nice job Brad :)
RossMAN Posted May 14, 2005 Author Posted May 14, 2005 I like it, it easily catches my attention :)So do I, it's definitely more noticeable than before.
Brad Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 maybe we'll bring back the red and green for christmas this year, lol
RossMAN Posted May 14, 2005 Author Posted May 14, 2005 Yeah for Christmas after that change it back to the current colors.
Keebelf Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 red and green for Black Friday- spending money and being in the RED! :)
Aaron Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 maybe we'll bring back the red and green for christmas this year, lolBrad, I like the changes. :)
Brad Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 I still see the old grey.It might not work on Firefox. I'll look into that tomorrow.
RossMAN Posted May 14, 2005 Author Posted May 14, 2005 It might not work on Firefox. I'll look into that tomorrow.I think you're right. At work I use IE and it works but at home I use FireFox and it doesn't work
MrsHoneybee Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Well I am a firefox user but opened Internet Explorer briefly tonight to test out the new PM colour feature. It looks great, very nice. Good work Brad. :)

i-bystander Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Quick - someone PM me... I haven't seen this yet.
Brad Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 PM yourself (yes you can do that, and no, nobody will make fun of you for doing it )
i-bystander Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 PM yourself (yes you can do that, and no, nobody will make fun of you for doing it ) Really?! I didn't know you can do that... LOL - I just tried it... me like. :)
mrn8 Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 I wondered why I didn't see any change. I'm using firefox...I'm lost without my tabs and mouse gestures.
i-bystander Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Like Ross, I have IE at work and FF at home too... I'm curious to know why FF doesn't like it - and how you'd get it to work, Brad.
Brad Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 The flashing thing was found on the vBulletin.org forum. The thing is, I can't even find where you change that dark grey that shows up for FF. It's not in the same code as the flashing part. I'll keep looking though. If anything I'll just have it be the bright orange for FF if I can figure out how to do it.
RossMAN Posted May 16, 2005 Author Posted May 16, 2005 PM yourself (yes you can do that, and no, nobody will make fun of you for doing it )I've done that a few times for notes/reminders/URLs, it works great :)
i-bystander Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 I've done that a few times for notes/reminders/URLs, it works great :) LOL, leave it to Ross to find a good use for it... he uses GD's PM system as his own personal notepad! :)
Scott Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 I've done that a few times for notes/reminders/URLs, it works great :)I do that with email all the time. But not normally with the GottaDeal.com PM system. :)
ActuaryTm Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Noticed this just earlier today (haven't been around much). When I saw the flashing blue and orange, I thought perhaps it was a "more important" private message.
Brad Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Noticed this just earlier today (haven't been around much). When I saw the flashing blue and orange, I thought perhaps it was a "more important" private message. You are correct. The GottaDeal.com Forum software now uses "SmartFiltering" which analyzes each private message sent to you and ranks it from 1-10 as to it's relevancy. Those that the system feels are not that important, are nothing but incoherent babbling or are just plain boring are discarded, never to bother you again Another great feature from GottaDeal.com

I like the colors in IE, but I use Firefox on a daily basis and missed a PM from a member today till 5pm today because I didn't look closely enough at the PM box. . . . (It's hard to read in Firefox)Any luck on this. . .
