guilliam
I know there are a lot of gottadealers in and around Ohio and I was wondering if anyone has ever visited the house from a Christmas Story in Cleveland? We have been wanting to take the kids for the last few years but every year something has come up that has prevented us from going. Well, I told dh that this year we ARE going since it may be the last chance we get to go as a family. DS18 wants to go away to college next year, and I'd really like for him to go with us since we have always watched it together as a family since he was little. So for those that have been there, is there enough parking available? Is it hard to get to? Any information you can give me would be appreciated :) TIA!! elena_398
yes. My whole family went last year. It was great. Got some great pics: Husband in front of the leg lamp in the picture window... Of course he had to put his hand on the upper part of the leg. Bought a bar of the soap and my son sat in the bathroom where that scene took place.... He gagged, but I had him put it in his mouth for the pic. Haha. My daughter sat inside the kitchen cabinet for a pic (scene where the little brother sat in there when he thought his brother was going to be "killed" by daddy after he had a fight. My son took a pic of my husband and I peeking out of the shed in the back yard... Definately, if you are in the area or can go.... GO! We may go back this year. They have a great gift shop too. elena_398
No parking lot.. Street parking so thats hard. We had to park a street or two away and walk. Not that bad though. Very easy to get too. We took the highway all the way in. Once you get off the exit, its right there after one light. Gift shop and ticket center is across the street from the Christmas story house. You pay first... tour the gift shop (we did this first as it was so crowded) then walked over to the house. They let a certain number of people in so its not so crowded. You can take pics anywhere. Even have the bunny outfit on display.

Do you know if there is a better day of the week to go as far as it being busy? Do you think it will be less crowded before Thanksgiving? Thanks for the info!
