It is possible to downgrade to Windows XP but it's not for the faint of heart. This laptop is perfect for homework, surfing the internet using WiFi, watching DVD's, and of course surfing GottaDeal.com Disclaimer: This is an entry level laptop which should be well suited for mainstream users. No this isn't a "state of the art" machine and probably won't play the latest games due to the integrated graphics. Since it comes with Windows Vista, it is highly recommended that you upgrade to 2GB RAM. You don't have to upgrade the RAM immediately, you can upgrade later and this laptop will function with 1GB RAM. Newegg.com sells laptop RAM as cheap as $30, remember to buy the correct RAM for your laptop.

tokanm
unfortunately nobody in my area (02048) has this it seems. Just fyi the coupon for the BB rewards program is for home theatre and will not work on this item. I did go to my local BB and looked at the display model...it was actually quite nice and the install for the extra 1GB was $40 (well you still had to pay for the GB too) Too bad I wonder if there will be any July 4th sales on laptops This one handed typing really sucks

Someone who has never done it before can complete it in less than 10 minutes, including time to find a screwdriver. Someone who has done it before can do it in less than a minute. Unless you can't unscrew and screw in a screw, I would totally recommend this as a DIY project! My hubby says if you want to bring it here, he'll do it at a discounted rate. How does $35 sound?
