katiesmommy01
I just spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone w/Comcast...partly because TWICE my phone service went out and I had to recall! They raised the fee of my tv service w/NO notice to me, and when I informed them that I had a 3/for deal they were like, ok. I guess they think that people won't read their bills and will just pay them...it was a $25 difference!!! I was getting so upset with their attitudes and the lack of caring that I finally said "cancel my service" Which, by the way, they didn't even try to change my mind about...just were like, OK, we will put in a stop service order!!!! UNBELIEVABLE. So I told them to stop it the 15th of July (since i'm paying for it till then anyways), which would give me time to find and carry over my phone #. THEN i get off the phone (angry) and come to find that both my Cable and my Internet Services are no longer operational...making me RECALL Comcast (turns out apparently the services stop when the order is put on the account, even if it's not supposed to take effect until a later date...something that would've been good to know!!!!)...finally my services are working again. AGH!!!!!! 5 yrs w/Comcast, paying my bill in full and on time...i'm done. Anyone have good experiences w/companies and want to share?
Jenh1973
I switched my service to Verizon more than a year ago. The internet is DSL a tad slower (Fios isn't available in my area yet) & I bundled it in a package with home phone service & my cell. O get a total of $15 off. $5 for each product. Comcast is the only cable offered in my area, I decided bunny ears work just fine for me.
Crue2001
I feel your pain...I hate Comcast. I switched my tv to DirectTV a few years ago, but had to keep the most basic cable for local channels. Even with only basic service, I have problems with them. I had a problem not too long ago with the box on the outside of my house and asked them to come out and fix it. It took 13 phone calls and almost 6 weeks before they bothered to fix it. Rude customer service, "I don't care" attitude...it's a wonder they have any business at all. I use Verizon for my phone & internet and recently bundled my DTV with it, so I get about $30/mo knocked off my entire phone/internet/DTV rates. When & if they get Fios in my area, I might be going that route if it's as affordable as what I'm doing now. But, I'll never give any more business to Comcast. Xfeg
No one loves comcast. I have never heard anything positive about them. One of DirecTVs call centers is here, okay actually Moore, OK, and the people that work there.... most of them dont care at all. I work in a call center but that one.... ive heard the worst stories. I have Dish. I think the most I have ever had to call about an issue is twice. Theyre very cooperative and really willing to fix things. I have arbitrary five dollar credits on my bills because I dont understand things and they credit me. I had a problem with the satellite once and was told that it would be $50 to have it fixed. I told them that it was their satellite and they needed to fix it and they waived the fee and prorated my bill. i did have to call them back so that they could have a time frame though. I have cox cable internet and att dsl right now. Ive had att since friday. no bills yet... but DH loves it. No more "what are you doing on the internet?" -"gottadeal thats already loaded" -"oh, well the connection just dropped"! Cox is expensive. ATT.... is cheaper. That's really all i have to say about them so far.
Rockfordmom
Unfortunately our service switched to COMCRAP recently and we've had nothing but problems, they don't forward our emails from our previous service as promised and the internet service is interrupted all the time and they are not very helpful on the phone at all and they have raised our rates several times. They told me that the modem that I bought from the previous company is not compatible with their service and that I could purchase one from them. They call here daily to get us to switch to their phone service. When they called the other day I had the guy so flustered he got me off the phone and their calls have stopped. I asked him what I would do if I switched to their phone service and if the phone didn't work every other day like their internet service, what was I supposed to do without internet and phone at the same time? CG480
I use to work for Charter they are no better. But when someone calls in and says stop service we were suppose to give them a deal to stay. I live out in the middle of nowhere so I have directv. We have local channels. We have to pay a few dollars more a month to have them. Our locals are Milwaukee stations. witch is about a hour from here. Also if you want you can pay a couple of extra dollara and have The New York and LA stations ABC NBC and CBS added. The one bad thing about directv is when it rains you might lose service. They do have interent service but it is cost alot of money. You will have to get a seperate dish for that also. So I figure when it rains that also goes out.
Rockfordmom
Everybody that I know that has a satellite dish from any company says that their tv goes out when it rains, maybe not every time that it rains, but enough times For phone I have a company called Sage Telecom for a couple of years and have had no problems with them but they are not available in all areas and they are pretty cheap. biomajor
they've raised my rates AGAIN! If comcast wasn't the only non cost prohibitive broadband i'd drop them. We're too far from a CO out here and satellite just won't cut it.

cokemeyer
After 3 months of losing our Comcast service so many times (we have triple play so that meant NO phone, TV or internet) and having an exposed line laying across our lawn "waiting" to be buried, I finally got a nice manager who agreed to post a $20 courtesy credit to our account (whoopdeedo). I finally get the bill and sure enough there is a line item on there called "courtesy credit" but the $20 was ADDED to my bill, not subtracted! Way to make a satisfied customer! My favorite stupid thing about them is that they act as if they don't "know" you have been out of service unless you call them or it is a large area-wide outage. That is BS to me; if they know you DO have service enough to charge you for it, then they should also have the technology and a tracking system where they know when you DON'T have it - thus eliminating a lot of the delays in fixing it - and providing automatic refunds too. I can't tell you how many times I have had to "beg" for a measly $5 credit when we have been out for 24 hours or more...
coleman4905
I do not like comcast as well,...i like when you have problems and you call and when your talking to them they reboot your system which hangs up on you so you have to call back and wait on hold again,..this irates me so bad!! I want another cable system to come t our valley,..dish network or any other sat. companys dont work very well around here because we live in a valley and every storm knocks it out. SO were stuck with comcast!!
Gloey
I hate Comcast too and I think their internet rates are out of site. I have ATT for my dsl and phone service. I would get a dish but the one thing Comcast does offer that others don't is "on demand" so I can watch reruns of all my favorite shows.
sas377
I hate Comcast also, but I hate DirectTV more! They have owed my father money for a year now and they just won't send it. They say they sent out a check, or are going to, but it mysteriously never get to him! It's not like it's that much, but it's the principle! Since experiencing this, I have heard of many people never receiving their refunds for the remainder of their month when canceling. It's pathetic that a company as big as DirectTV would do this to people.

kmennis
Ohh!! I cannot count the ways I hate Comcrap (or as my neighbor says...it's Comcastic!) We were switching to Verizon Fios in January, and I guess in the prep, someone cut our cable lines the first day of the two week Christmas vacation (so I'd have three kids home with no tv, no internet!) They could have cared less, wouldn't do a patch from a neighbor's, nothing. We got service two days before our Fios was installed. The best part was when Comcrap tried to bill us for the two weeks we had no service. I had my husband call customer service because I'd already fought with them too much.....he was in disbelief that he was actually getting yelled at by them! My neighbor just canceled her Comcast and at my advice, immediately returned her equipment to the local office. Two weeks later she gets a call that she had a missed appt to pick up her equipment...what?? She'd been home the entire time! Seems the van parked outside her house for an hour, didn't ring the bell because they didn't see a car in the driveway (umm, did you think it might be in the garage??) She made some calls, doing her best to get everyone involved in trouble, but nobody wants to take responsibility. Verizon isn't perfect, but it makes me glad to not give any money to Comcast.
