I want to buy a laptop with Windows Vista and then downgrade to Windows XP. Is it possible to do that for free? If not where can I get Windows XP for cheap. Amazon has it for $200 :eyepoppin

It really depends on the manufacturer. Lenovo I believe lets you still add in XP, but I believe it is XP Pro. (pro isn't that bad, use it over home.)

The cheapest I've seen XP is for 99.00, but that was when you bought a new motherboard/CPU combination at Fry's, and it's OEM. Usually OEM means it doesn't come with a manual, and it's meant to be purchased along with other parts.

I just figured home edition would be cheaper than pro, but if pro turns out to be cheaper that's great!

I may have to try ebay, thanks!
