Windows XP Home Edition

It really depends on the manufacturer. Lenovo I believe lets you still add in XP, but I believe it is XP Pro. (pro isn't that bad, use it over home.)

 

The cheapest I've seen XP is for 99.00, but that was when you bought a new motherboard/CPU combination at Fry's, and it's OEM. Usually OEM means it doesn't come with a manual, and it's meant to be purchased along with other parts.
