Why don't you call Nintendo if it's still in warranty and they'll repair or replace it. 800 255 3700

TY ..that's what I ended up doing. They will replace or fix it for $50 plus I get a new 1 year warranty.

If anyone is still checking the thread...I was wondering if Nintendo made you send in a proof of purchase? Or did you register this one when you purchased it? Just curious as how they do it.

They have a system set-up where when the retailer scans it, the warranty is activated and by the date. You can just go online and signed up your name with that serial #. They already know when it was purchased, because of the scan of the bar code HTH
