katiesmommy01
I was looking at their Germany storybook trip as something fun I could take my daughter on this summer. She's 6 1/2 (7 in Oct) and very princess/storybook/castle involved. Since she's still very young for such a far away trip I wanted to ask if anyone has ever been on one of these adventures and what they thought of it...good idea? AndreaInNC
to be honest with you - she'd be disappointed. At that age, their imagination is huge - she probably can image what some of these castles look like inside. Especially if she went to Neuschwanstein Castle (aka Cinderella's castle) - it's huge inside and not decorated in a princessey type way. Some of the castle we visited were actually empty inside. She will probably get bored quick too. A trip to Europe right now with the dollar being so weak will cost you an arm and a leg and she probably won't remember most of it when she's older. I'd suggest waiting - but that's just me. I plan on taking my kids to Europe when they are 18 and 14.
Shortness
I have to agree with PP. All of the castles I visited weren't too storybook/princess-like. I loved the parts of Neuschwanstein that we got to see, but I was about 20. The outside is fantastic from a distance--just like the books/postcards. I don't know if I'd be too impressed at 6. AndreaInNC
lol .. that exactly what I was thinking. Nothing worse than dropping a wad of dough only to hear your child say .. I'm bored.
