To find one in your area, check here: http://www.scholastic.com/bookfairs/events/warehouse/ Have fun! Don't forget to register and print a FastPass, it will save you time, and likely money...I always spend more than I think I will..... Tommya
saiynee Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Thanks! Mine is Tues. and Wed. this week. I can't wait!
crayzeedanielle Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 the website says you have to meet certain qualifications- work for school system, be a homeschooler, etc. is that correct?
katiesmommy01 Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 The only ones "near" me are over 1hr away this time I went to one in Dec last year (i don't homeschool, not a teacher, etc.) and didn't have any problems going in or buying things...HOWEVER i was really dissapointed in the prices...not nearly as low as i was hoping/expecting
chan1 Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 the website says you have to meet certain qualifications- work for school system, be a homeschooler, etc. is that correct? And I am neither ? Can I just go to the sale ? All I am is a parent wanting to get some good books for my child at a reasonable price.:)
lovetoshopCA Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 And I am neither ? Can I just go to the sale ? All I am is a parent wanting to get some good books for my child at a reasonable price.:)It looks like you can go as a "book fair volunteer." I know I have helped a bit with setup once, so I guess that counts. Do they have many books actually for $1? I notice it says selected titles. Just want to be sure it is worthwhile since it is today for us and today is VERY busy!
vsa3janes Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Missouri isn't having this sale. Bummer, I miss the days when they let you fill a box for $15. Those were gottadeal days.
susiestar Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 none near me. no book fairs, warehouse sales, or book fair workshops. absolutely zip.
lovetoshopCA Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 it was a real dud here. Just a bunch of junky girls books that no one wanted. Oh well. won't bother again.
selsar Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Thank you very much.. I already printed out my fast-cart pass.
dgmommie Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 the website says you have to meet certain qualifications- work for school system, be a homeschooler, etc. is that correct? They may say that, but at the one here in Tulsa, they never check credentials. Anyone can go.

Just want to be sure it is worthwhile since it is today for us and today is VERY busy! There are some for $1 and some for $2, even $3. Most books are just half off the list price. With Scholastic, that's a bargain, since they never put things on sale. Most titles are current too.
