Stackable washer/dryer

I'm going this weekend and finally get new washer/dryer and I'm planning on stacking them inthe laundry closet. Mainly so I'll have a place for dh and ds to kick off their shoes, so I won't trip over them. I've read that the stackables make noise or possible move. I saw the cushion floor mats for exercise equipment and thought that might keep the sound down. Has anyone else done this?

My stack unit doesn't act any differnt than the regular set I had. Just make sure when you buy they set that it is a regular size set. Some of them are smaller. Mine is regular size and it's great.

I haven't had any problems with ours at all and we have had ours for probably 5 or 6 years. Make sure it is a regular capacity my brother had one that was so small he ended up taking his laundry to my parents house every weekend so it wouldn't take so long.

Those things are horrible. I bought one before and man what a piece of junk. The repair man called them "throwaways" because they asre so cheap and expensive to repair.
