needcoffee Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I thought I saw a link to this deal back when it was $179 but I can't find a link now. If you picked it up at that price, get your price adjustments! Anyway the price on this dropped to $131.98 http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31vB2immZOL._AA280_.jpghttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000U62N1S It comes with 2 HD DVDs in the box and there's a rebate for 5 more from select titles.
yasure Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 toshiba lowered the price on all hd-dvd players yesterday, may not be a good sign.....
elite2058 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I have had good luck on all my Toshiba brands, I hope they stay strong.
needcoffee Posted January 15, 2008 Author Posted January 15, 2008 Yeah-it appears Blu-ray is winning/won the battle. At least with the adjustment the price isn't bad. You can still get HD rentals and hopefully by the time they're obsolete blu-rays will be cheaper.
wmelnick Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Everyone does need to realize that if they buy it,. it will likely be no more than an upconverting DVD player within a year, with the exception of any HD-DVDs released up to that point. Blu-Ray now has 70% of the market.
irishkateek Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 My son gave me one of these for Christmas but after reading that Blu-ray is taking over the market, I returned it. It got great reviews but I just don't want to be stuck with something that I can't get new movies for.
