jrudy01
Anyone know of any sites that are legit, that list peoples timeshares that get rented out. We want to rent one for a week in June for a trip to disney. We stayed at one 2 years back and found it much better than the standard hotels. I hear that there are houses to to rent as well. Thanks for any info. Jeff
Promom
I don't know about the timeshares, but I do know some about the houses. We stayed in one in the Indian Hills Subdivision. It was less than 5 minutes to the gate of WDW and we had three bedrooms and our own enclosed pool. It was great. You miss out on bring in disney all the time, but the extra room and the private pool make up for it. Look into it you can get some good deals. I use Vacation Rentals By Owner website or search Indian Hills. Just be sure to mapquest the actual house address so you can see how far from WDW. Some rentals are like 30 minutes away. Fireflyfrommi
Try www.tug2.net. It has a timeshairing message board where you can rent weeks that people who own can't use for whatever reason. You can join the message board for free.
oneannm
Also try www.disboards.comand member binny89 in this board- binny is the king of all things Disney.
kjunea
I second disboards.com. Scroll down to find the DVC info. They will also have lots of other information that will make your life easier for planning, etc. And you can make your Dining reservations NOW if you are going within 180 days! I have been to WDW over 30 times in the past 20 years, often escorting groups of kids from my school. I never, ever made any ressies until I took my DH and DS this November. The people on the boards really encouraged me to do them and I was sooooooo glad I did! We got into some great restaurants that I saw people turned away from night after night (I saw 8 different parties turned away from one place, Le Cellier in Epcot within 20 minutes!) Please make your ressies soon! You can always cancel them later if you need to and some (like Le Cellier or Cinderella's Table) are hard to get into! rae662000
Also if you are a government employee (or know one) there are a couple of websites that you can rent weeks at timeshare properties. We have done this several times and it is very, very cheap. One website is www.getravelop.com renting thru RCI for $329/week and www.govarm.com (prices vary here) cannot remember off hand who they rent thru. I have personally used both and would highly recommend them
my2kidsmom
I second http://www.vrbo.com for house rentals. We stayed at Indian Creek and it was awesome!!! http://www.intercot.com is the best site I've found IMHO for doing Disney trip planning. and use any place if you just do the 30 min presintationWe did a timeshare tour once. Got a great rate on a very nice Condo and free tickets to the waterpark. BUT BE WARNED -- it is no where close to a 30 minute or even 90 minute (most say 90 min) presentation. Ours turned into a high-high pressure 3 hour presentation--I finally got so mad I just stood up and told the guy that there was no way I was buying a timeshare TODAY and his time was up. I suggest saying that at the end of the 90 minutes (or whatever the agreed upon time it) - I would definately do a timeshare tour again (for the free tickets or whatever), but I would take a stop watch and tell them I agreed to 90 minutes and their time starts NOW...and click that sucker and just sit there and nod my head and agree that yes, it sounds wonderful...yes, it would be great...oh...wait, your time's up. Thanks for the presenation...GOOD BYE
Promom
I just found this website you might be interested in. Saveonresorts.com it lists deals at hotels but you have to go on the timeshare presentation, BUT they have a deal that you DON'T have to go on a timeshare presentation. It $179 for 3 days-2 nights at the Radisson Getaway Package. You also get meals, and tix to other things in Orlando. I called once on one of these and you can buy extra nights real cheap. hope this helps.
