I'm in the market for a 32" LCD TV and am hoping to catch a deal somewhere. It seems that in years past there have been some pre and post Super Bowl deals on TVs. Anyone know if I can expect something like that this year? And if you have a lead on a cheap 32" LCD TV - preferably Vizio or Olevia for less than $500 total (shipping + taxes) please pass it on.

Thanks!

I am interested in buying a TV too. At least 32". LCD or Plasma. Could anyone advise as to when is the best time to buy? After Super Bowl or right now?

Thanks,

I agree with the 'Marcster'.......Sears ran a great promo before the NFL's opener this season, offering sale prices, & the option of $$ rebates or deferred payment/interest on Sears card.

Walmart has 32 inch Vizio on sale for under $500 today and other good buys. I'm just looking for a smaller size for bedroom.

What's wrong with a 32" tv set in the bedroom? http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Yes/th4eec30cd.gif

My 2 oldest (9 & 6) have 32" in their bedrooms. Granted they are not LCD yet....My youngest just had 19" but he has a smaller room...Poor mistreated child!

Anyone hear of any sales yet..I guess we still have a few weeks. Can't wait. DH is gonna be mad if I made him wait to purchase for nothing ;)

Again, I'm with the Marcster.....Depending on where you'll be placing it, (viewing distance), keep in mind that not all programming is in HD yet, and when the signal switches back to digital, the aspect ratio reverts to "Pillar Box" format, thus reducing the image size....For example...I replaced my 36" conventional with the 42" Olevia, (Great set/Value).....When the major network news in HD is on, full screen...When they cut to local news/weather snippit...it converts to pillar box, reducing image size, essentially giving me a 32" picture.....If you change the format to "Stretch", then the non-HD image is out of proportion...

Just something to keep in mind FWIW......:)

i *believe* Best Buy is having a sale next week with a 37 inch LCD for around 650-I cant remember what brand as someone told me this sort of off hand. Also there is a 10% off BB coupon in my post office in the new movers packet that expires 1/31-so thatd make it what around 600 dollars? Im hoping this is the case cause i REALLY need a new tv.
