BJ's membership

I have been a member of BJ's for a year and it is time for me to renew. To renew my membership for one year will cost me $48. I know this is probably about $10 more than I paid last year to become a member and at that time I got membership for 15 months. My daughter can get a better deal through her work, $37 for 15 months, but you can only enroll at certain time periods and that won't happen again until May. Does anyone know of a way I can get a better deal. I am not sure I will renew at this cost and wondered if I let my membership lapse if they would then offer a better deal, something like when you decide not to renew a magazine subscription. Being single I don't really buy that much there but I do like some of there meat and it seems easier to get my dog food there. Does anyone have any ideas on this, thanks.

Do you get the coupon books in the mail from BJ's? I sometimes get 60 day passes in there. That might help to tide you over, if you don't shop there a lot.

Would your daughter or someone else you trust be willing to split the cost. You can get 2 cards. This is what my mom and I do. We each pay half.

My BJ membership also recently expired. I kept forgetting to go and renew it. They sent me a $10 off renewal in the mail...So you may get one too. (my previous member ship was like you..15 months...)

Wow!! That's a really great deal. Here in NY the membership is only for 12 months and it costs about the same price to renew. My cousin and I split the membership and I guess it works out better that way. I hardly ever shop there but I love their birthday cakes, meat and cat food. It's waayyy cheaper than at Target and they accept coupons.

AnnMarie, I am in NY also. But a BJ representative goes to businesses at certain times of the year (1x per year) and offer 15 month memberships Otherwise we'd have to get the 12 mo. membership.

Thanks for the replies. I think I will let it expire and see if they offer me a better incentive to renew my membership. I don't think I save enough shopping there to pay for the membership and as money gets tighter we cut back where we can and this is one place. Also it is a further drive for me than I would make for groceries so will save some gas money. I do enjoy getting a few things in bulk easier to store and buy but will go back to buying smaller packages for awhile.
