MP3 plug into computer?

Hi, This might sound nuts but does anyone know of a simple type of an MP3 player that plugs right into the computer hard drive (no cables, no software needed)??

 

I want to get my BIL a simple MP3 and he doesn't need a 1,000 songs and the easier it is to use, the better.

I don't understand exactly what you mean.

 

You'd need a cable, for sure, to connect an MP3 player to your computer, if that's what you're talking about. A lot of MP3 players come with pre-bundled software that makes it easy to transfer songs. In my experience, my iPod with iTunes has faired me well. Perhaps an iPod Shuffle would be adequate?

My daughter had one that was a USB on one end that plugged into the computer, no wires. I don't know where it came from though it was a gift.
