allshoppedout
Hi, This might sound nuts but does anyone know of a simple type of an MP3 player that plugs right into the computer hard drive (no cables, no software needed)?? I want to get my BIL a simple MP3 and he doesn't need a 1,000 songs and the easier it is to use, the better.

Not sure about now but DD had a White 1GB that did that. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=7942214 Like this!

sirfelix
Not nuts at all. I hate cables too. There are many mp3 players that plug directly into a USB port. If you have Win XP it will recognize it as a drive, so no software needed. Some examples are the PNY VIBE for one. allshoppedout
Wow Thank you all for quick responses! I was under the weather but I am feeling better and headed to find an MP3 this weekend. I know BIL got a newer computer with windows vista, does anyone know if this would be a problem? ~I will try to ask at BB or Walmart, (at this time of year, one can wait a long, long while to get someone who knows what they are doing) but most of you are smarter--so I ask here first :)
