jalsmom Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Santa is bringing our DD a Nintendo DS this year and I'm wondering if Santa needs to get a game with it? She'll want to play it on Christmas, but if there's not a preloaded game on it, she'll have to wait or I need to find a good game to wrap with the console. She hasn't mentioned what types of games she wants to play, so I'm hoping it comes with something and she can ask for specific games for her January birthday :) Will I need anything else for her to play on Christmas Day 5 minutes after opening up the box? Thanks!

Thanks!Unless you buy the bundle DS systems like Nintendogs than it doesn't come with games. I don't know how old she is but my daughter loves the Nintendogs, Catz and Dogz ones. You can always find clearance DS games and watch the online forum, Amazon has been having some great sales on DS games.
Fishboysmom Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I would definitely pick up a game or she will not be able to play it. I don't know how old she is but you can probably get something for $15-$20.Someone posted this one [build a Bear] at BestBuy.com. $19.99 + free shipping. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8600114&st=build+a+bear&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1192232563185
jalsmom Posted December 5, 2007 Author Posted December 5, 2007 Thanks for the info. It's much better to find out today that I need to get a game, versus Christmas morning! To answer the questions, she's 10 (will be 11 in January) and in 5th grade.
conj Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I would have Santa give the game.... otherwise how did you know she was getting a DS?
joenkims Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 My daughter just turned 11 and is getting DS for Christmas from Grandma. Games she asked for were Brainage and Nintendogs. Nintendogs is very popular with girls this age...so I'm told...all her friends have it! There are multiple Nintendogs available (dalmation, yellow lab, dachsund, etc.).
jalsmom Posted December 5, 2007 Author Posted December 5, 2007 I would have Santa give the game.... otherwise how did you know she was getting a DS?Yes the game(s) will definitely be from Santa too -- although Santa lets me know in advance what he's bringing so I don't buy the same thing!
khuddle Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 game is a must! other than that there is really nothing else you will need!
Paka Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Another game to consider picking up is Animal Crossing: Wild World. An easy-to-play, clean game with almost limitless replay value. Great for all ages, and popular with girls. Pokemon Diamond or Pearl could also be a good pick. One other suggestion would be the gold limited edition Zelda bundle that comes with Phantom Hourglass.
mkeymse Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 There is a Hannah Montana ds game on sale during the TRU sale tomorrow night and Sat morning... 9.99?
heatherkw Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 DD 13 likes Nintendogs also and I just picked up Imagine Fashion Designer at K-mart It is new and on sale there this week for $24 only until Saturday!
