I'm actually on here looking to see if there's anyone with knowledge to discounted MAC laptops before Christmas?

If you are a student, they offer student discounts at the apple store. I don't think there is anything else. If you want an Ipod as well, I think CompUsa was doing 50 off the Ipod with a mac purchase this week.

the only ones i know are refurbished on the Apple site. Try dealmac.com and go right to macs for info.

 

Macmall has bundles if you need/want additional software etc.

I was going to say Macmall, but their deals are just okay unless you want a ram stick. It really depends what you type of product you want: refurbished, or new; I bought a Macbook last November and it was the best purchase I made, however my Refurbished Mac Mini from a few years back is also a great buy you just don't get the nice packaging

Of course you'll want to make sure that you're getting the Core 2 Duo version of the Mac (otherwise you'll be getting an outdated processor with 32 bit capabilities as opposed to 64 bit - which is just how fast the computer can write data temporarily to the RAM - I'd get at least 2gb of it. The laptops can only handle 4GB. Your better off ,money-wise, installing the RAM yourself, it's the slot under the battery, it will save you a lot of money if you get memory yourself.)

 

If Memory and operating system versions don't matter to you I'd keep my eye on this amazon.com repackaged iMac:

It's out of stock now, but when it's back the product should sell for $600-800, Amazon will most likely put more up when another shipment of computers come in and a box is ripped or damaged slightly.
