capman Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Hi, I am new so pelase be kind. I have seen so many posts about buying a couple of days before and then doing a price adjustment on BF. The main thing i need ( and yes, very boring) is diapers for my twins and BRU has then for $10 a box no matter what size. Anyone have experince with them and do you think they will price adjust? Thanks, R
mywarmbluefleece Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 This is a really kind message board. You don't need to worry about asking us to be kind. We don't bite. Welcome Generally, people don't have good luck pricematching on Black Friday, especially if the stores don't state they will. Some stores, (if I remember correctly, like Walmart, Target, AAFES) will pricematch. One thing you can do is go up to the store, grab a package of those diapers and ask the manager if the price goes down later this week if he will PM. Thats usually the best way to get the answer. Raising babies is expensive. Good luck!
capman Posted November 19, 2007 Author Posted November 19, 2007 Thanks for your reply! Ok, i went for it. I went to a NJ BRU last night with my twin sons ( for added cuteness) grabbed 4 packages of diapers, asked the cashier who happened to be in front of the customer service/returns desk as well and asked "if this goes on sale this week, can i get a price adjustment?" Both woman said " It should not be a problem, just bring in your receipt". I will post my results because for .08 a diaper, i have to go for it. Also went to Target as well and grabbed the Polar express DVD and mens slippers for the same hopes for Friday morning. Result coming! Godspeed!
Amormigato Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 you can try, but I would think that since the diapers are an early bird price item, that I doubt BRU would price adjust. It willl go back to normal regular price after 12 noon.
samisma Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 capman, just make sure you get to BRU during the sale hours for the diapers. just go in with the receipt (leave the diapers at home obviously). if you go in after early bird hours they do not have to honor the price match good luck!
sdcantrn Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Can anyone tell me if Toys R Us will honor the Babies R Us ad? I will be out of town on black friday, and the only Babies R Us in the area is 45 minutes away. There is a Toys R Us within 5 minutes. I'm interested in the diapers and Sesame Street walker. I know it says in store only for the diapers, but I wonder if the Sesame Street walker could be ordered online at the sale price? Another thought - do you think Wal Mart would price match their brand of diapers and/or this walker? Your help is appreciated.
samisma Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Hmm. I THINK wal-mart would PM the walker if it's the same model, you have the Babies R Us (BRU) ad with you, and you are purchasing it during the early bird hours for BRU. I doubt they'd price match store brand to store brand diapers. They're pretty particular. Good luck!
capman Posted November 23, 2007 Author Posted November 23, 2007 O, the results are in: I was able to sucessfully price adjust both the diapers at BRU and my dvd and slippers that I bought at Target. They were doena at 6:30 am with a smile ( ohh.it helped) and it took no more than 90 seconds each. Thank you to this wondeful board for all the advice. I shall continue this tradition next year! Hope everyone had a great BF!
BellaVita Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I missed it. Stupid circuit city. I wasn't able to make it to Babies R us
samisma Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 i made bru a priority. purchased 6 cases. :) found out my aunt, who lives nearby also was in that insanely long line with me (but she was about 100 people back) and she bought me 5 cases of diapers. i'm hoping that by the time i run out of diapers, my DD will be potty trained!
