It's an upconverter, which means it brings DVD movies pretty close to HD quality on your HD TV. I keep debating buying this for my house for my room. I'd like to pick up an HD TV on Black Friday for my bedroom. We have a 15 year old buzzing TV in there now LOL. It's really a good price for an upconverter IMO, esp not a cheap brand.
