Does anyone know where I can get a decent looking fake tree for under 300 without having to get it on BF? I've seen some nice looking trees on QVC before, but I can't remember how much they were going for. I'd like to be able to buy one that is prelit, looks close to being real and is dumby proof for putting up. Also, I'd like it to be at least 7 feet as my living room has a very tall ceiling.THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!:D

I just ordered one from QVC yesterday.

I don't think they have any more of the particular one that I ordered... mine is a 9' slim (pencil) tree. Like this, but taller: https://www-ssl.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/app.detail

Some of the ones are introductory price or on easy pay (mine was - 4 payments of around $55). I'll report back when it arrives.

Please let me know how you like it after it arrives!! I think I am leaning towards QVC right now.

A close friend got one last year at Michael's and got a great deal with the 50% off any tree coupon. I know that it was 9-foot and prelit. It is a very full, gorgeous tree. I don't like prelit trees, or I would have gotten one for myself. They have already started to put the trees out at the Michaels in my area and were talking about the coupons coming out in Mid-November. I also saw some very nice trees at Lowe's last week.

I've seen nice trees at Lowes for the $$ you're talking about. They have a GE

7-1/2' Deluxe Just Cut Franklin Fraser Pre-Lit Tree that's $300 and looks great! The lights are the GE ConstantOn lights and the tree was very well lit and sparkling at the store. Very nice density too. It seemed to have a quality look about it and was fuller than a lot of the trees in its price range. This was one of their 'top models' and they carried trees for less, too.

If you are really picky-picky about the quality of the tree itself and want one that's dense and lifelike, try www.treeclassics.com. Get an non-lit one - the prelit ones are cha-CHING! I have one of their non-lit trees and I love, love, love it! It's luxurious, intricately sculpted, dense and full. Some of their non-lit trees have hinged branches, which might be something you'd like.

If you have BJ's in your area they have some nice trees that aren't expensive. The one I want they sold out but are getting more in, when they don't know. It is a 7 1/2 ft frazier for $150 with 1000 lights. My girls like this one because they want multi lights and most are white lights. They did have quite a few with the white lights. I have also checked in Home Depot and they have nice trees.

You sure you dont want to go out on BF?

sears has a tree Orig. $299 for $99.99. And it goes to $199.99 after noon.

7 1/2 ft. madison. with 800 lights and a rotating stand.

I went to Sears today to look at it. It is a pretty nice tree, of course I liked the $349 better.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just thought I'd report in that I LOVE my QVC tree.

I have had 5 different artificials over the years, and this is my absolute favorite. The tips of each branch are of a different, softer faux-pine, which makes them look like new growth. The branches are wound with brown and green threading, which looks quite real... the overall effect is fabulous. Very realistic. If I get my act together, I will post a picture.

So glad you like your new tree, because sometimes it is a litte scary when you order and have never seen it before.

It is prelit with the whitelights. Super easy to put together and super fast shipping!!! I had it in my house in 4 days!!!!!!!!!!! Plus on top of everything, the shipping was free!!! I was going to update the shipping until I saw when the date for arrival. I figured no reason I needed it 2 days early when I could get it shipped for free for 4 days. :yup:
