rennakay Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I do shop kmart and big lots on Thanksgiving Day. 3 years back they handed out gift cards and my son and his family joined me, we were number 7 in line. My gift card was $1 but my son who was behind me got a $500 gift card. The past couple of years they haven't had much of what I needed so I usually just take a quick trip to just look around.
supershopper1 Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I hate the thought of stores being open on Thanksgiving. I worked in food service for many years and my daughter is a nurse, we know what it is like to not be home to celebrate Holidays with family.
MDWKurt70 Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 I worked for Kmart for over 15 years, and I worked every Thanksgiving day they opened. This year, i'll hit there about 8 AM, always get my Pepsi stocked for the weekend:D , hopefully have a good deal on some CDs, and some slippers. Then Walgreens if any last minute stuff I need. I hate waiting in line just for Pepsi, but I don't care, lol!!
beergirl977 Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 I usually get up, put the turkey in the oven, look at the ads for BF and then I will go to Meijers to get a few things and then I go home and get ready for the turkey and the annual Lions football game.
ketchupkatsu Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Bass Pro Shops have been open on Thanksgiving day in Las Vegas for a while. They usually have a ad that is equal or better than there normally advertised BF ad. I don't remember if they advertise the Thanksgiving day specials or it is something you have to pick up at the store.
Scanner420 Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 The only big-named stores open around me in S. Jersey, on Thanksgiving are K-Mart and Big Lots. They really don't keep either of them stocked either, so I haven't really bothered with going in on BF Eve!!
