  1. Congrats to anyone who got the laptop online!!! That's an awesome deal!!! Hope those waiting in the cold get it.
  2. That laptop is perfect for me. Might get up at do Staples up in Ankeny!! Luckily the Staples stores here are in surrounding communities away from CompUSA and Best Buy stores!! Hope I can get one!!
  3. Wow!!! Looks like the Ankeny and Altoona locations have the laptop pictured, but showing it and having it in stock are two different things!!! Would sell mine in a heartbeat if i could get my hands on that!!! AWESOME DEAL FOR A DUAL-CORE!!!!
  4. I like the CompUSA ad as the best so far. While the Best Buy Sony laptop is nice, the HP for $449 on Friday for a 17" is an incredible deal. Especially if there is no rebate. While Kingston 1GB memory is on sale right now for $29.99, the PNY for $2 cheaper is cool, though the notebook is already 2GB. and I like the Trio ONYX 1GB portable music player for $39.99. The only compUSA that I know of in Clive is just a couple blocks down from Best Buy. Should be a crazy Thursday night and Friday here.
  5. While I thought that I wasn't going to stop at Walmart on Black Friday, now that there may be Secret in store specials posted Thursday and Friday, all hope may not be lost. Hopefully, they come thru:gdcar:
  6. I actually got 2 compaq presarios last year, one for me, one for my younger brother, but they were the Celeron M, 512MB, 80GB hard drives for $399 each. I actually bought them the Sunday after Thanksgiving, they came with free Mail In upgrades to Vista basic. I got them at the Jordan Creek Best Buy at like 4:30 in the afternoon. We called ahead and then rushed right out after I got off the phone. I was shocked they had that many in stock. My brother still has his, I sold mine and got about the same earlier this year with Vista. If i had to do it again, i'd buy the Compaq Intel Dual Core with 1Gig Memory and 120GB hard drive for just $50 more. Just goes to show sometimes patience pays.
  7. I worked for Kmart for over 15 years, and I worked every Thanksgiving day they opened. This year, i'll hit there about 8 AM, always get my Pepsi stocked for the weekend:D , hopefully have a good deal on some CDs, and some slippers. Then Walgreens if any last minute stuff I need. I hate waiting in line just for Pepsi, but I don't care, lol!!
  8. looks like an awesome system, probably wish i would have went after it...
  9. Sure that with my local best buy not having the outstanding notebook values and Walmart doesn't appear to have any either, my Staples will be packed at 6 am for these. Still may go check it out though
