I do shop kmart and big lots on Thanksgiving Day. 3 years back they handed out gift cards and my son and his family joined me, we were number 7 in line. My gift card was $1 but my son who was behind me got a $500 gift card. The past couple of years they haven't had much of what I needed so I usually just take a quick trip to just look around.

I hate the thought of stores being open on Thanksgiving. I worked in food service for many years and my daughter is a nurse, we know what it is like to not be home to celebrate Holidays with family. :(

I worked for Kmart for over 15 years, and I worked every Thanksgiving day they opened. This year, i'll hit there about 8 AM, always get my Pepsi stocked for the weekend:D , hopefully have a good deal on some CDs, and some slippers. Then Walgreens if any last minute stuff I need. I hate waiting in line just for Pepsi, but I don't care, lol!!:woot2:

I usually get up, put the turkey in the oven, look at the ads for BF and then I will go to Meijers to get a few things and then I go home and get ready for the turkey and the annual Lions football game.

Bass Pro Shops have been open on Thanksgiving day in Las Vegas for a while. They usually have a ad that is equal or better than there normally advertised BF ad. I don't remember if they advertise the Thanksgiving day specials or it is something you have to pick up at the store.

The only big-named stores open around me in S. Jersey, on Thanksgiving are K-Mart and Big Lots. They really don't keep either of them stocked either, so I haven't really bothered with going in on BF Eve!!
